The Capri Tools 1/2 inch Drive 72-Tooth Flex-Head Low Profile Ratchet (part# CP12500FX), where shall I begin… I own a lot of tools and to start, the finish is stellar. The tolerances are tight yet, not too much resistance is present. Now, positive detents do exist and are a nice additive. I thought the anvil provided an adequate grip on my sockets and extensions new and old. And finally, the ratchet mechanism. I utilized this ratchet on four suspension brackets , rear springs and spring hangers on the chassis of a 3 year old farm unit. Never did the mechanism slip and the 5° swing was positively noticed in tight places. Very nice Capri!

This is an excellent heavy duty ratchet that should last many, many years if properly cared for. The 72- tooth pawl allows for a smaller arc to engage the torque of the ratchet. This tool is a flex-head design, features a tear-drop handle, high-polish chrome finish, and a longer handle length. The overall length of this ratchet is 18 inches as compared to standard length ratchets that are usually 10-12 inches. That gives you much more leverage to get more torque on the fastener. The flex head allows some movement to clear obstructions. I liked the metal forward/reverse selector knob and the overall smooth operation of the tool. It is an excellent professional quality ratchet. One small thing that I didn’t like is that it doesn’t have a quick release button for sockets but it is still a great tool.

The Capri Tools low profile flex head ratchet makes a fine addition to my tool box. The 72 tooth ratcheting gear is great for working in narrow spots. The 180° flex head makes it easy to navigate odd situations. I like how the well polished handle fits in my hand. It also has a nice long handle for extra leverage when needed. Can’t say enough but for an economical 1/2 inch ratchet, this should be on your list.
