The Klinge series is our premium line of cutting tools by Capri Tools. The Klinge 8 in. High Leverage Combination Pliers and Crimper have our expertly hardened high-carbon steel cutting edges that cuts through soft wires (4.0 mm), hard wires (2.5 mm) and piano wires (2.0 mm). 55 HRC cutting edge hardness achieves optimal balance between toughness and edge retention. Crimp insulated and non-insulated solderless terminals and connectors for 10 to 20 AWG wires. The pliers are constructed entirely of premium Japanese forged high-carbon steel and underwent state of the art heat treating process. Combined with our superior bevel design, our pliers stay sharp over time. Our high leverage mechanism enables you to use 50% less effort than conventional pliers. The flat and round serrated gripping jaws gives you the ultimate grip on both flat and round objects. Minimum gap between flat jaw tips lets you grip onto even thin sheets. A thin profile makes these pliers lighter and more agile especially in tight spots. The Klinge 8 in. High Leverage Combination Pliers meet ASME B107.11 standards.

Combination pliers, crimpers, wire cutters. Instructions give guidance on cutting wire but no guidance on the crimping function (no size). Could use more info on how to cut wire. Handles are rubber coated and have a comfortable grip distance between handles. Package verbiage says these units have 50% more leverage but not sure how they accomplish this. But did cut some 18 gauge steel wire and it was pretty easy. The 9 inch length may give you some problems if you are working in a tight area. These pliers are made in Taiwan. They have the look and function of a high quality unit.

These combination pliers are pretty good. They are a bit slimmer and narrower than other brands, which will help in the tighter spots. I normally use dedicated crimpers, but these should work well for most crimping work. They feel good in the hand. Like most other pliers of this type today, the flat part of the jaws do not close tight and flush, so other tools are needed for a tight grip on thin material. Would be nice to see Made In USA! The size of the jaws is the most impressive thing to me.

An electricians “go to” tool. Next to screwdrivers, the “lineman” pliers are my most used tool that is kept in my hip pocket. So I wanted a tool that I can count on and this Klinge combination pliers fits that task perfectly.The plastic dipped handle along with the curved end helps keep a grip of the pliers. The long handles provide sufficient leverage to cut through 12/2 romex with little effort.I like the Klinge jaw design placing the crimping jaw behind the jaw hinge. I also like the notched gripping jaw which makes it ideal for grabbing lag screws and bolts but still provide a close clearance jaw tip for twisting wires.This a great versatile set of work pliers that goes with me on all my electrical tasks.

When I saw these pliers I went for them. I have a pair of another brand that has given me many years of excellent service but like everything they are showing their age. So let’s get something new and these seem to check all the boxes. All the finishes that have checkering and teeth are well cut and sharp the crimps are sized well for most application. The final review may not be available for years, the test of time; but go ahead and buy them at this price they are a winner now.

This review is for Capri Tools KLINGE 9-inch high-leverage combination pliers, Model 2-2000. This tool is made of drop-forged steel with the jaws hardened to 55 HRC. I have used this tool primarily for cutting Romex multi-conductor copper cable products. I cuts cleanly with low effort, even for three-conductor 12-gage cables. I have also used it for crimping of solderless splice and terminal connectors, it working very well in that application. This tool has comfortable insulating handle covers and jaws that grip very well for round, shaft-like objects of about 1/4 to 1/2-inch diameter. The fit and finish for this tool are excellent. A limited lifetime warranty is included. This great tool is a welcome addition to my toolbox.
