The Capri Tools Professional 1/4 in. Letter and Number Stamp Set is made from premium components. We use premium Chrome Vanadium steel that’s been differential heat treated to achieve optimal performance and durability: 62 HRC hard stamping end produces high quality imprints and keeps the edges sharp, and 42 HRC tough hammering end excels at absorbing repeated hammer strikes and maintaining durability. Large, true-to-size, and expertly machine letters/numbers ensure the imprints are precise and refined on leather, wood, copper, brass, aluminum and mild steel. Each stamp punch has engraved sizing and identification on the side facing you, making is easy to fine the right stamp and the right orientation. Includes 36 stamps: letters A-Z in uppercase, the ampers, and numbers 0 to 9. Comes in heavy-duty storage cases.

The 36 piece Professional 1/4 in. Letter and Number Stamp Set, is something that I have been needing for a long time. This is so handy to have in my shop. Now I can identify not only my tools. But I can put “Paw Paw’s” name and date on the projects that I make for my eight Grandchildren. What is really cool is how they take the guessing out of wondering if the letters and numbers are being stamped upside down or not. The have the stamp identified, so as long as you are holding the stamp with the letter or number facing you. It is going to be correct. Get a set. You wont be sorry.

Very high quality product. Works well on most any surface you want to use it on. I’m mostly interested in using in on wood as I primarily do weekend woodworking. One of the best features is that it has the letter stamped on one side of the punch in order for you to orient which way to use it. Using a punch upside down and backwards can be difficult. This way you always know that you have it placed properly. You just have to point the side with the lettering towards you and your good to go. A great addition to my woodworking. I can add initials, names, dates etc.

I found this stamping set to be very handy. I used them to make tags for the 50 plus rhododendrons that we have planted in our yard. I made the tags out of ½ in wide aluminum stock that I purchased at Home Depot. It takes a little practice to make sure the stamp vertical so the imprint would come out sharp and clear and the same depth over the entire letter or number. It is something you can get a feel for fairly quickly. To ensure the letters are properly aligned and spaced also takes a little practice. I used a spacer to keep the top of the letters even in each word. Then I learned how to judge the spacing between each of the letters by sighting the edge of the stamp with the edge of the preceding letter. All in all, I was very happy with the results and I am sure these stamped tags will last a long long time. The set is housed in two small boxes that make it easy to store.

I have a lot of tools, at my farm, that I regularly lend out to family & friends. This Capri Tools stamp set will help me & others identify what is mine & should be returned. I simply stamped my initials on all wood and fiberglass tool handles. I made the imprint near the bottom of the handle, where it meets the steel head of the implement. Each stamp is 2 5/8″ long by 3/8″ square. The length of the stamp is comfortably long enough to firmly hold onto the stamp with 3 fingers & avoid being hit with my hammer. Each stamp has the letter, or number of that particular stamp, engraved on the side that should be facing you, so the imprint will be correctly oriented. Despite repeated blows, with my hammer, the letters on the stamp face did not loose any of it’s sharp, defined edges, giving the same clear impression on every one of the tools I stamped. Also, the head of the stamp, receiving the hammer blows, did not mushroom out. Great credit to the Chrome vanadium steel & heat treating processes. The heavy duty plastic case securely holds all stamps in place, while in travel, with a unique internal latch system. This is a top professional stamp set.

These appear well made. Cleanly Forged and machined. The character marking on the side is a useful aid in not stamping characters upside down. Short of having an “UnDo” Function (Ha!) this is as good as it gets… I can’t predict how they will hold up over time and use, however the tempering ofo the hammer strike end looks like it’s going to be very durable…

This LETTER AND NUMBER STAMP SET is all right! The good stuff… heavy, strong, it feels like it’ll take a beating and last forever.Precision? Not really… mainly functional, but if you want to initial and/or a date your work, this punch set is perfect. It works great on wood and the softer metals. I have not tried it on steel yet. Each punch shows what letter/number it is and and it’s orientation on the side facing you. That makes it easy to get your punch right.BTW, I got the 1/4″ stamps because I’m old, and I can see them.
