These pliers do not grip as well a the #423 channelocks they are replacing. The jaws are v-shaped and the v does not line up depending on the size of the work you are trying to grip. The redesigned #423s are no better than these #GLS design. This pliers also bind when closing. I wish channelock would bring the original design back. I will try to include a picture of the original. The curved design would grip tighter and tighter as you put pressure on them.
