This was the cheapest magnetic strip knife holder that I could find. The magnet is literally two thin magnet strips that run parallel to each other within the bigger strip. I did not have a problem with the knives not attaching to the magnet. They were very secure. In fact, it was a little hard to remove them because it is a magnet. I could see if a knife does not lay perfectly flat on the surface how it might be a problem for some because it’s one thick magnetic strip- it’s 2 smaller strips. Also, I don’t understand why instructions are not included. I had to read a review to see how you screw in the third nail and install the strip.
