There are lots of flashlights that cost more and do less. This one will light up your life without “light”ening your wallet. After I bought one, I bought 4 more to keep around. Like another review mentioned, the twist action for spot to flood is difficult to adjust the first time, but after that it’s fine. I almost thought it was false advertising at first. I could not get mine to turn. Just apply heavy elbow grease and wrist strength and it will turn. I like the fact that it uses regular batteries (this makes it a little bigger than some flashlights) because I can quickly replace and be back in business. I love the three settings feature. The lowest setting is still plenty if light to see for walking or close up work.

This is the brightest LED light that I have used so far. The description that the Home Depot AD shows is actually a mixture between TWO different flashlights! The image that is shown is for the Coast Poly-steel 600 LED Flashlight but the title says Coast HL7 305 which is different!

we use the 600 in a mechanical environment where w need both a penetrating beam for small lparts and a flood to view the operation of the units. The 600 gets dropped from a height of 7 feet to a concrete floor. We have yet to break one in or fallng from a machine

I’ve been through lots of flashlights, some junk, and some pretty decent. I was concerned that because of the low price that the manufacturers of this flashlight would have compromised somewhere because that’s always been my experience. You get what you pay for. None of the flashlights I’ve bought for under $40 have endured in the long run. It’s still too early to tell with this one because I’ve only had it a few months, but from what I see with build quality, it should last longer than all the rest I’ve owned. It’s brighter than I expected. Some reviews have complained that it doesn’t focus a small enough, tight enough beam, but to me the spotting is perfect, and the entire zoom range has a great balance to it. I use it for a bicycle light and it lights up the road like a car headlight. It’s a little bigger of a flashlight than I’m used to, but I don’t carry it around in my pocket much. The only thing I dislike about it is the slight petroleum based odor that the polygrip coating gives off. Most won’t notice this unless you’re chemically sensitive like me.

This flashlight is everything I expected, Powerful light, excellent focus. Still too new to rate durability, but construction seems very sturdy in general, including the switch which I have found to be a weak point in LED lights. Focussing collar was very tight to start: just apply a little more torque. I like that it uses batteries available everywhere.Price was the best and delivery rapid. I like it enough that I bought another to give to my son on his birthday.

I am a flashlight junkie, I have many and they fascinate me. If you a looking for an affordable, bright light, water resistant to 1 meter/3 feet, powered by AA batteries, this for you! It would make an excellent flashlight to leave in the car given the use of AA Lithium batteries. The Lithium batteries should provide for light functions through resistance to extreme high and low temperatures.

Tactical flashlights like this would cost well over $100. The thing is built like a rock and is plenty bright. I don’t personally find the 3 brightness settings all that useful. I would prefer just a high and a low. But in any case, this light is well worth the money.

I own 7 or 8 Coast flashlights of various sizes and lumens and two headlamps as well. I have been very pleased with all of their products. After 3 years of substantial use, my Polysteel 600 started having issues with the contacts. I would click the “on” button and nothing would happen. Give it a shake, it would light up, but then go back out. So I returned it to coast and explained the issue. 3 weeks later I received a brand new Polysteel 600 with a note that said my old light was not reparable, so they decided to just replace it!!!OK by me. :)Now I have a brand new flashlight. Love Coast and their products. I will continue to buy more.
