I was surprised how long the batteries last. I am still using the original batteries it came with. It is very durable. It gets dirty where I work and it is easy to clean. I dropped it a few times from 4 feet and no external damage. If I do get it dirty, I just dunk it in detergent soap and rinse. I have had flashlights before over 11 years on this particular job, each time, I always have issues with battery, case, lenses, not able to clean, and durability. So far, I have no complaints. I even got the 400 series because I like the small one for tiny spaces. This is definitely my holiday gift to family members needing a flashlight.

This flashlight is light weight and sturdy. The poly material on the outside keeps it from getting too cold to handle like aluminum flashlights get in colder weather and the metal inside sleeve makes it very durable. It is very bright and a good size also.

I dont give 5 star rating often but this is one of the best values i’ve seen for a flashlight, ever! I liked the brightness of the COAST brand lights but dropping them on a hard floor or cement from less than 5 feet up would usually kill them. These POLYSTEEL lights are VERY tough! I dont abuse my tools or torture test them to see how much abuse they can take, but i use my tools hard they need to hang in there. I’m not going to spend hundreds of dollars on flashlights. That’s just not in my budget, so the price and durability of these lights is money well spent. If they made a bigger / brighter light with the POLYSTEEL body that used 3 or 4 D cell batteries, I would definetly buy one! another surprise was the weight of this light. I expected it to be heavy, but it’s not. Overall its a great light at a great price for what you get

I have been using a large high intensity spot light to see across large structures which is fine until you have to climb 40 – 60 ft up a ladder with it. Unsafe and always in the way when climbing. This flashlight is light and emits as much light as the higher rated spotlight. Have bought 3 of them.

Pros:1. Sturdy, Bright, Low price, Lifetime warranty, Good customer service, Rugged, Quality, Waterproof, and AA batteries operated.Cons:1. TOO BULKY for AA type of flashlight.2. Just one button for(off/on & power level)3. Bigger than I expected.4. Feels low ended1. It is an OK light to use around the house. I wouldn’t not recommended for tactical or law enforcement as advertised.2. I prefer having 2 buttons. One for off/on and one for power level so the power level will be what I left off and not having to cycle through the power level (this is personal preference)3. This flashlight is too bulky that the batter housing can ALMOST FIT a D-cell battery.4. Spot mode is not focused enough for me.5. Will NOT FIT easily in your pocket.6. This is a mid-size flashlight.

I originally bought this for my 7 year old, as the cheap flash light didn’t last long, so far this flash light handled everything, including being drooped and thrown many times.It so good that i have bored it few times to light up areas where i was working.Its NOT as hard to turn the focus or the unscrew battery container as other stated, it tight but manageable.

I’ve only owned this light for a month, so keep that in mind. I can’t speak to how it works in the cold, or its durability over time.I have submerged it about 1 foot underwater for about a minute, twisting the focus while doing so, and there were no ill effects. But I haven’t done more than that to test Coast’s claim of it being waterproof at up to 3 meters for up to 6 hours. In addition, I’ve not yet dropped it onto concrete (no doubt I will do so at some point).This flashlight is small enough for a big pocket or glovebox, but produces a LOT of lumens.I really like the twist focus. Most of the time I have it on flood, which produces a circle of light that illuminates just about everything within my field of vision that is within 40 feet. But when I need it–say when I’m boating at night on the river–I switch to the spot, which can reach out hundreds of feet (provided there’s not too much mist, fog, smoke, or dust).I also like that I can choose low, medium, or high beam, because sometimes I want less light. For example, I don’t need to light up the entire side of my neighbor’s house just because I’m taking out my trash or hitching/unhitching my boat in the dark.My only complaint is that it doesn’t float. That concerns me, because I have used it while boating and will continue to. I’ve added a wrist strap and have been thinking about how to add buoyancy, for example by making a snug sleeve of closed-cell foam (a flashlight koozie).

For quite I looked for the right led flash, finally found this. Liked it so much that I bought one for each of my sons also. Too new to comment on longevity, but seems to be of very sturdy construction. Focus ring is very stiff. probably to assure water-tight integrity. Focus range and power level selection are perfect
