There are penlights and then there is the HP3R Flashlight which is the brightest penlight on the market. With our Flex Charge Dual Power system, this light harnesses either lithium or alkaline power and using a micro USB, you can recharge the batteries in the light or quickly swap out to alkaline when needed. Have had this light for about 3 years. I use it daily in an automotive shop. The only thing that is showing any wear is the pain is rubbing off in a few spots. Only thing that would make this perfect would be the ability to drop some AAA batteries in it when the rechargeable goes dead. I use this light for several hours every day and have ran it dead on many occasions, I usually end up having to rob the cap off my other coast lights so I can put some batteries in it. Other than that minor complaint it is perfect.

I bought this item a few months ago I’ve been using it for a couple months now, I am aircraft mechanic so having a good light is important. I like the fact that this light can focus, but if you need a good inspection light for close and far distance go with something bigger from coast. Overall this is a good light for close up inspection but higher lumen is helpful for something further.

Excellent penlight!! As powerful as most flashlights! Longlife and rechargeable too. I just want to get an extra Coast rechargeable battery for it. Well worth the price!

I’ve carried a flashlight everyday for about 8 years and there is no better light for money than this. The charge is fantastic, you can carry AAA’s as a backup, it has two different brightness settings and you can change the scope of the light quickly and easily, plus Coast is an absolute pleasure to work with. In regards to the USB issue, i’ve had luck using different USB cords, which works to charge it without the light coming on. Can’t recommend this enough.

I’ve had two of these flashlights and I’ve even lost one out in a snow bank for 3+months and when I found it the dang thing still had a charge and works awesome still. I’ve owned both for over 3 years and never let me down! I use them all day every day on vehicles. Definitely recommend!
