Not sure what type of batteries you like to use most, then go with our HX5 Flashlight, which is compatible with not just standard alkaline AA, but with rechargeable NiMH or rechargeable Lithium 14500 as well (NiMH and Lithium not included). With the Lithium 14500 cells, the lumen output jumps nearly 3 times as bright as with the alkaline battery. Also unique to the HX5 Flashlight is a 2-way clip that makes it easy to clip in either direction on your pockets or even the bill of your hat. Using our Pure Beam Focusing System with Slide Focus, this light can easily transition from flood to spot modes with 1-hand.

Great little flashlight. The focusing head is a great feature and I prefer the AA battery since it can be easily swapped when needed. Solid construction. I also love that the switch is just On/Off without gimmicks.

Nice sized high intensity light. It has an optical lens with a push/pull focus for a nice large circle of light or a tight beam. The big advantage is that it works with either a 1.2V AA cell (at some lumen reduction) or a 3.7V 4500 rechargeable battery (size about the same as a AA) for maximum lumens. The package includes a AA cell, but a 3.7V rechargeable (with charger) has to be purchased separately. The barrel is not a tight fit for either type of battery, an advantage should the battery swell a little, as AA’s are sometimes prone to..

The light output is good. My only criticism is that the on-off switch is a bit finicky, that is, you have to be right on in pressing the switch or it won’t go on or off. I bought this flashlight to carry in my pocket and it is small enough but not too small. I have more expensive flashlights with the same type of switch and they operate more smoothly. I have the same Coast flashlight but older and it has has the same problem but even worse.
