I have not put this guy to the test in the garage. My impression is based on minor repairs around the house. First, light is very bright. There’s an up-down swivel at the base of the light. Harness is sturdy and fits very well around my head, and I can position the light where I want. No problems with battery back opening so far as some have suggested. First impression is of a well-made, quality product. At the $8 level, amazing value.

I received this product for free for the purpose of reviewing. This headlamp has all of the features you need but skips the ones you don’t need.Good Features:-Over the head strap so it doesn’t fall down your face-Bright-Easy to use on / off switchLacking – but not a big deal-Does not have a focus lense-Just on and off / no dimming feature

I have gone through a dozen headlamps over the last 15 years as a professional mechanic. These are invaluable while working and needing both hands available. This lamp is the first I have used that has the battery compartment separated from the lamp portion. The ones I have used prior always had everything up front and after about a year the weight of the unit couldn’t be supported by the adjustment feature and would swing downward with any sudden movement. With this having the batteries in the back, the light portion weighs almost nothing and I don’t see this becoming an issue. As far as brightness it gives off ample light to be able to see clearly beyond 15 feet. I am installing new insulation in my attic in the coming month and this will be all the light I need.

This head LED lamp has a simple on-off light for getting hands free operation in dark tight places. Unlike other head lamps that you have to count clicks to get the off position. This lamp has easeof operation. Has adjustable beam direction (up-down) to help get the exact light on subject while working andadjustable head straps for fit along with clips to attach it with to helmet. This product is comfortable for wear and a good addition to my tools.

awesome bright beam in this headlamp, the headband is also a comfortable, quality band that goes around your head, so you can adjust size, and over your head to keep the light in position. it’s a great headlamp

Well lets start by saying Home depot claims this is 175 lumens, yet when you open the box it says 145 on the packet!!? Yeah thanks for that!I’m a pest control tech and use headlamps mainly for dark basements/ crawl spaces. I wanted a headlamp to replace my Streamlight flashlight (185 lumens). For the price this looked perfect!Well it is bright… But fades fast… And then lasts ages as a dim headlamp.Build quality’s not bad, as is operation of controls. And it’s very comfortable (even though you look like a bit of a dork wearing it).Access to batteries is easy too.If they’d added a circuit to keep it the same brightness till the batt dies it would have been great (if not quite bright enough)The search continues for the perfect headlamp….

This chip led headlamp, has been a great purchase while needing closer lighting as I work on details for either projects that have fine details, or running my skill saw, I am making fewer and fewer mistakes, I like to be acurate ,especially if I am making gifts, this light takes the details to a new level….who knows I may just sell some of my projects now…..

I am a luxury coach technician and there are some tight dark areas to work in. This light helps 100% as long the batteries are fresh. Once the batteries are low on power the unit is not too bright. Great product though. A must have.

This light is great. Fits nicely and is very bright. I am a sprinkler fitter and alot of times I am in the dark and can’t see to hang pipe. This light is the best i have found and I love it. Lights up the whole area your in and allows you to use two hands to work. I have tried alot of other lights but they where either uncomfortable or not bright enough. This light is very comfortable and very bright. I would recommend to anyone to buy this light. I love it and I am glad Home Depot was the place I found it at.

HL5 6 Chip LED HeadlampThis headlamp flashlight unit has six bright LEDs that run on three AAA batteries (included). It provides a bright, oval-shaped, white, spotlight that is about 12 inches wide when measured at arms length. It has a circular strap for placing it on your head and a vertical over-the-head strap as well. It easily illuminates whatever you might be working on. The AAA battery pack is located at the back of your head with a wire that runs around the side to the LED flashlight. The flashlight is hinged and can be adjusted up & down, so that you can lower or raise it to fit your field of view. It also has a set of 4 clips that you can use to clip it to a hardhat (I have not tried that feature). I found it was easy to just put the light directly on your head. The elastic band has plenty of tension and it is adjustable. The power switch is located on the bottom of the light unit and can be easily switched on/off with your thumb and forefinger. The LEDs put out 175 lumens of light. This headlamp could also be used for outdoor activities such as riding a bike, walking the dog, or jogging, although you might look a little “geeky” wearing it. I think I will keep mine handy in my toolbox.

I’ve had several LED headlamps, that also included the red light. I need the red light for my nights out with the telescope. These are by far the brightest I’ve owned. The only problem I see with it, is the wire going from the battery casing to the lights. You might get hooked on something, while crawling in tight spaces. That’s the reason for giving it four, rather than five stars.

This headlamp is an excellent light. You can direct it where you need it and your hands are free to take care of the project that you are doing. We have used it several times and still have not replaced any batteries. My husband said that it is so handy and he is so pleased that I ordered it. It arrived within a few days after ordering it.

I love this headlamp. It is very bright, useful when you really need bright light in some task. Also you can aim it so it doesn’t blind people if you are walking in the dark somewhere. I have had this headlamp for years and when this year it unexpectedly stopped working, COAST replaced it for free. I highly recommend COAST headlamps!

I LOVE THIS LIGHT! Wow – I’m a big fan of head lamp gear for so many reasons, from the benefit of hands free light to being able to direct light exactly where I look. And this unit is SOOOO bright, I’m really impressed. With 3 light intensity options its really versatile and very dependable! I wish I had this light years ago! I don’t know what it costs in store, but its worth it in my opinion! Its light weight, doesn’t distract from the work at hand and easy to use! A+
