The 10′ USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C Male Cable from Comprehensive allows you to connect external USB Type-C devices, such as the Google Nexus 5X, Google Nexus 6P, and more to your compatible USB Type-C system, such as the Apple MacBook Pro, Apple MacBook, Google Chromebook Pixel, or any other computer with a USB Type-C port. USB 3.1 Gen 1, also known as USB 3.0, provides a maximum data transfer rate of 5 Gb/s through its reversible USB Type-C connector, meaning that the connector can be inserted whether oriented right-side up or flipped upside down.
Comprehensive’s USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C Male Cable is backward compatible with USB 2.0 at speeds up to 480 Mb/s, and USB 1.1/1.0 at speeds up to 12 Mb/s. It has a low-profile design, which helps make it more robust, as well as Shielded Twisted Pair (STP) construction, which helps to block electromagnetic interference and ensure more reliable data communications. It is protected by a limited lifetime warranty.

I use it for charging and it’s not as pliable as I would like and not easy to roll up. the ends are very strong and I don’t think I will encounter any issues with fraying at the ends but it also means that there is little flexibility so I cannot move it around easily when attached to a device.

I am using a GoPro Hero9 as a webcam. This 10 ft cord means I can move it around from point to point in my virtual ‘google classroom” to show anything I want to ,y music students such as an overhead view of the piano keyboard, or quickly clipping it to a tripod or mic stand to see the whiteboard, or up close on the knobs of a synthesizer to demonstrate various filter settings while the students hear them.

I purchased this cable to connect my MacBook Pro to my Drobo 5C. I needed a cable that was longer than the 6′ cable by Apple and thought that this cable looked like the best one that I could find based on available information. The cable is sturdy and appears to be of good quality except it does not fit tightly when plugged in. The connection is loose enough on my Drobo that I decided not to use this cable as I am afraid I will loose the connection while transferring important data. I will have to make due with the shorter Apple cable as it has a perfect connection.

This cable works perfectly as a charging cable and for backing up my Galaxy S8 to my Mac mini (using a Thunderbolt port). The MAC indicates a speed of 5 Gbps on the System Summary (USB). The connectors on this cable are a tight fit on both ends of the cable. No problems with an intermittent connection. The 10 foot length is great. Great purchase at a great price.

When I look for cables for computers, the Comprehensive brand is one of the brands I look for, as so far they have never let me down. So far, this USB-C cable has worked well for us.
