United worked kind of….for one week. It would not work at all with HDMI input and worked one week with component and then stopped. It would no accept any input signal….period. Cheap junk

All it’s done so far is crash my computer(s). Obviously, they discontinued it for a reason. I’ll keep trying to get it to work & update if it does.

It’s good in that it’s got component and HDMI inputs–a little more flexible if you need it. The bad is the software–for some reason, the newest version of the software they have available for download has a couple of additional updates. I had core isolation enabled on Windows 10, and the software initially didn’t want to install at all. It was a pretty good price, and I didn’t have a huge need for this, so I can live with it. If you plan to do a lot of capturing though, you probably should spend a little more and get something a little less iffy and frustrating, software-wise.

The capture card itself works fine, and streams quality video (tested using Nintendo Switch). However, the USB cable that comes in the box is faulty. I had many issues of it connecting, reconnecting, disconnecting, then getting a blue screen error until I changed the cable out for a new one and everything has worked perfectly since then.

For recording Nintendo Switch, it works well through OBS. However, using the 360, it wouldn’t work, even though that’s what it’s advertised for. After troubleshooting for a while, reconfiguring my settings, and referring to their manual and online forums, I called Roxio customer support. They said they’d call me back and never did. You also have to launch Roxio software and then close to record in another program. But their software easily crashes your computer. It’s usable for some consoles, playback quality isn’t bad, and it’s at an excellent price point.

This thing pretty much won’t do anything from the HDMI input without running the proprietary software that comes with it, which requires mandatory registration. The software is junk for streaming, but ok for recording i guess, (I didn’t really test that) Trying to use it as a source in OBS Studio immediately switches the input to analog, regardless of what’s connected if you aren’t running the proprietary software. Even at deal of the day pricing which was rock-bottom, this thing also will be at the bottom of my drawer and likely only used if I want to capture an old school console with analog outputs. Bottom Line: I would only recommend this as a tertiary capture device for special use case, but definitely not as a primary capture on modern consoles.
