I’ve loved the stream deck for a few years now. Have had a 15-button model on personal and work computers. This was my first time with the XL/30-button model. I LOVE the amount of buttons and how I could organize it to run virtual productions with OBS, Zoom, PowerPoint, and Spotify.

Fantastic for OBS, editing applications, coding, whatever. I even have buttons to control smart home things with plugins.

Initially, this was not a bad piece of hardware. I was not impressed by the washed out screen colors, but it was functional. Then today I reboot my PC and start OBS and find that Streamdeck is no longer able to communicate. So I reinstall Streamdeck, and the plug in for OBS. Still not working. Tried updating Streamdeck to latest version. No good. Wasted an entire evening uninstalling, installing, troubleshooting, all to no avail. OBS is working fine, but the StreamDeck isn’t. Have to go back to using a mouse to click on the scene I want now. Too bad the return period expired. I have a $250 paperweight now.

We use this to aid live stream volunteers running the PTZ cameras and having all the necessary buttons on one level turned out to be important. On the smaller 15 button deck, they have to find submenus of scenes depending on where the action is taking place in the worship space.

We used the smaller Stream Deck for a few months and quickly realized the value of this handy device. We decided to purchase the XL version to better maximize the Stream Deck in how we handle the our livestream productions with the ATEM Constellation.

I used this with my Davinci Resolve shortcuts

I use these a lot for work when I work on ATEM switchers or even Ross switchers, and they work perfectly. So I got one for my house when I edit or when I have to do anything else. I have yet to use it to it’s full capacity and I do so much with it. The main thing that makes the stream deck perfect is how fast and responsive it is. The fact that we use it to talk to broadcast equipment and can recall macros fast enough for a sporting event, makes this hardware perfect for the price.
