Designed for game or music enthusiasts, the Sound BlasterX G6 from Creative Labs is a USB Gaming DAC and external sound card that delivers an improved audio experience. Compatible with Windows, Mac, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, the G6 combines a virtual 7.1-channel, 32-bit / 384 kHz, 130 dB USB DAC with an Xamp discrete headphone amplifier for detailed audio. It also features Dolby Digital decoding with virtual 7.1 surround sound, game-voice volume balancing, and Scout Mode to enhance in-game audio cues. Simply plug the Sound BlasterX G6 into a USB 2.0 or 3.0 port on your host device and it will function using bus power.

This external DAC added to cheap HP desktop with onboard audio. Definite improvement in audio. Optical out on G6 goes to optical input on stereo receiver. While it’s a big improvement, audio is now roughly comparable to my new Sony UBP-X700 w/HDMI output. UBP-X700 cost lot less on clearance. That’s only reason for 1 star deduction. So, well worth price if you don’t have higher-end sound card, or higher-end Blu-ray player.

It is an excellent sound card, very good to play, especially shooting games, the footsteps are heard from many more meters than without having the sound card, also to listen to music or watch movies, it is an excellent product.

I bought this as a potential solution to some noise in the line for my mic thinking my older motherboard was starting to show its age. it didn’t solve my mic issue but it does sound amazing. I didn’t know my headphones could handle the sound that I’m getting from them now. very happy with my purchase.

Good quality and sound great. Mostly use it for movies (virtual 7.1) and music (direct mode). The Command software is easy to use. The build does not feel premium (due to plastic case), but the sound quality is good (better than my Dragonfly Black).

I use this for my PS4 and will use it in the future for the PS5. I bought it for it’s compatibility with the PS5. It works well and I love all of the options you have for setting up the sound stage.
