Crescent is a premier hand tool brand from Apex Tool Group, 1 of the largest hand tool manufacturers in the world. The Crescent Tool Company introduced the original adjustable wrench in the early 1900s, which in effect replaced an entire set of dedicated- size wrenches. It quickly became and continues to be 1 of the most essential tools in the toolbox.

My crescent wrenches are old and some are rusted making them hard to adjust. To tell the truth they are hand-me-downs from various people and places. I have oiled them to free the adjustment up, but they are still hard to adjust. It will be fun using these new wrenches because they are so easy to adjust. I have attached pics to show the throat size of each, and that they have the size of the wrench molded in each.

No matter how many wrenches and types of wrenches you have I find a Crescent brand adjustable wrench to be my go to on many projects. This set is typical of Crescent quality. Made from a chrome alloy steel with a lifetime warranty these will make a proud addition to any toolbox or tool chest.I especially depend of the big 12 in situations where space allows for added leverage and I know I’m not going to break it even with the use of a piece of pipe for a cheater in very tough situations. Each of these have a SAE scale on one side and a metric scale on the other for easy near size adjustments when you know the size bolt or nut you are gonna be working with

I have always believed that if you wanted a good adjustable wrench you would buy the Crescent brand. These two wrenches are what I would consider a descent quality with a chrome finish. They have the bolt sizes laser etched on the sides of the jaws, SAE on one side and Metric on the other for those that would use that. The jaws adjust easily but do have a bit of side to side play in them, especially on the 8 inch one. The handles are wider than most and should be plenty strong. Nowhere on the wrenches does it say where they are manufactured, but the packaging says that they are made in China. Overall I believe that they are good wrenches but in my opinion not quite the quality of the American-made Crescent wrenches from the past.

I got this Crescent wrench two pack for general use around the house and in the garage. Both of the wrenches have a nice weight and feel to them. They are obviously well built and have a sturdy quality to them. The wide knurl allows for rapid adjustment, and the laser etched scale provides a nice visual to adjust the wrench to the correct setting minimizing adjustments. Overall simply a quality product and a necessary addition to any tool box!

These seem to be well-made tools; it makes me happy to look at them and pick them up. They have done (and continue to do) the jobs they are supposed to do, as well as being aesthetically pleasing. It might have even been made in the pore ole USA! (Hard to tell — some of them are made in China, of course.)

This Crescent brand adjustable wrench set is awesome. They are very high quality and very heavy duty. The larger 12” wrench has a maximum jaw capacity size of 1 1/2”. The smaller 8” wrench has a maximum jaw capacity of 1 1/8”. The jaws fit very tightly onto the bolts. The adjustment works very easily with the spiral adjuster. There is a helpful size guide on each side of the jaw, one side is in inches and the other is in millimeters. These will last you many years and are very high quality.

These wrenches are well made and engineered. Both have smooth and taut knurls—the mechanism to adjust grip width; there’s virtually no ‘play’ in the movement. They each also have etched scales (inches on one side, millimeters on the other). They are hex-jawed and fit easily on hex and square nuts/bolts. The 12” wrench widens to 1-1/2 inches, the 8” widens to 1-1/8 inches. These are very sturdy and will last a very long time. One unexpected but somewhat useful feature is they include a little arrow for direction to turn on either side.

CRESCENT 8 IN. AND 12 IN. ADJUSTABLE WRENCH SET. Excellent all purpose good ol Crescent wrenches. The 8 inch with max jaw extension to 1 1/8 inch or 29 mm is “go to” in your carry tool kit as it is versatile and lighter weight. The 12 inch is heavier and for those tough jobs that next that extra torque or wider jaw extension, it goes to1 1/2 or 38 mm. The handles are wider for easier grip and the easy adjustment head creates tighter fit. I really like the laser etched scale on the jaw that has metric on one side and SAE on the other.

Common use size for crescent wrenches which are very helpful if used correctly by the individual. It is necessary to ensure when using a crescent wrench ensure that the force being applied whether tightening or loosening that force is being applied to the stationary jaw and not the adjustable jaw,. Force being applied incorrectly can result in damage to the wrench. I would recommend this tool for all households.

This adjustable 8″ & 12″ wrench set by Crescent means that you do not have to carry a large set of fixed size wrenches but need only one that is adjustable. In photo A is the wrench it replaced for my tool box. It is an antique tool called a FORD Wrench because it came with every Ford Model A automobile made. It is called many names such as a Monkey or Automotive wrench. This Crescent 12″ weighs less than my old antique and that is good. In photo C are two Features that give me an Advantage and I Benefit from them. One is the Reeding on the knurl [see the green arrow in photo C] as it is easier to adjust than one that is smooth. Another is the Etching of both metric and the inch scale [see the red arrow in photo C] as they help me to know the nut size I am using. The scale on the wrench also is a quick caliper I use to measure with. In photo B I am using it to tighten a valve on a 1″ pipe. I hope this helps you

The wrenches are just as Crescent has slightly improved on the perfect functional product. The wrenches are replacements for the older models in my tool box. 30 years and they have a few nicks. These are very comfortable in the hand and work the adjustment perfectly. The wheel seems just a little bigger to turn easier. The laser etching for size adjustment is clear and is imperial and metric. The jaws open a little larger than my 30 years old same size. The handle had a directional arrow for guidance on how to turn. Made in China
