great product. And they actually work like they say they will. The sizes are good and they have a great weight to them. They are easy to hold and adjust. You can actually use one hand to adjust them when trying to use them in awkward spaces. But my husband loves them and he says the sizes are perfect for jobs around the house.I’m glad I got this wrench set.

I ordered this set of Rapid Slide Adjustable Crescent Wrenches from HomeDepot.com, and they arrived on time and undamaged. It’s impossible to imagine how you would damage these in shipping. They are both cast iron, with a lifetime warranty from the vendor.Anyway, the wrenches are easy to use. If you’ve ever used a Crescent Wrench before, you know that sometimes it can be difficult to adjust the jaws, but with this new “Rapid Slide” mechanism, it’s way easier. Simply put the jaws on the nut/bolt/whatever, and use your thumb to slide the jaws closed. I feel like this provides a tighter bite than the old fashioned mechanisms, and it doesn’t take two hands, you can do it all with one. The one call out is that I’ve found the 10″ wrench a little difficult to slide at times, but if I move the mechanism back and forth a bit, it still almost always slides the way I need it to with one hand.It seems like the jaws only move based on the thumb slider. I was not able to move the jaws by pushing or pulling on them, and it claims to have a built in debris shield to protect this mechanism. I have not had the tools long enough, or worked with them in dirty enough conditions to test this out. I can’t imagine these tools ever breaking but if they do, it’s nice to know they have a lifetime replacement warranty from the vendor. Both wrenches fit in my hand well, and are very heavy and solid. The small 6″ wrench extends to 24mm, or 15/16″ of an inch. The Large 10″ wrench extends to 30mm or 1.2 inches.

These wrenches are unlike any I’ve ever used. They are a hybrid between the quick adjustment of a tongue/groove joint pliers and the fixed jaw of a traditional wrench. They can be used in most applications where a traditional adjustable wrench would be selected, yet they allow the user to adjust the jaw size much more easily than either a tongue/groove pliers or a wrench. So where is it best to use these? I discovered they will be invaluable in places where you have just one hand free to both hold the wrench and adjust the size. Recently I was up on a ladder, using one hand to hold the ladder, and the other to hold the wrench to loosen a small overhead bolt. Typically, I would struggle with the thumb-wheel of a wrench to tighten the jaws, or if using a pliers, try to get my hand around both handles of a pliers to do the same. But with this wrench there was no struggle or frustration. I was able to quickly tighten the jaw around the bolt by simply sliding my thumb along the handle. It just doesn’t get any easier than that. Some reviewers reported they experienced binding of the jaw, but I did not. The slide adjustment was smooth, but not sloppy. The jaw size held steady when I removed my thumb from the slide. And the slide did not bind in position when making subsequent slide adjustments.Regarding the open slide channel, I do share the same concern others mentioned about jams caused by debris falling into the slide channel – though I did not experience any problem; However as other reviewers mentioned, the lifetime replacement warranty suggests this concern will not be a problem. If there’s a downside, the 10” and 6” wrenches weigh nearly 2 lbs and 1 lb respectively, and are noticeably heavier and thicker than most conventional wrenches of those sizes. I can’t see myself holding the 10” wrench above my head for long before suffering arm fatigue. The 6” wrench is more manageable. Also, the larger dimensions might prove challenging to work with in tight quartersBottom line: the ease and speed of jaw size adjustment of these wrenches are a real time-saver compared to the traditional thumb-wheel adjustment required by conventional wrenches. These are great tools, and reasonably priced. I would recommend them to a friend.

Have been searching for the 6″ sliding adjustable Cresent wrench and it’s price is nearly the cost of these two together. Already have the 12″ version. This wrench series eliminates the need for taking your hands off the item/bolt/nut you are trying to turn just to make the wrench fit it. Adjust it with one hand while you are working on it. Adjustments aren’t perfectly easy but some silicone spray on the slider mechanism helps keep it workable.

Awesome product daily use. The tool I reach for first when working. I am hesitant to use on gas lines and gum up the mechanisms with plumbers dope.

Used it today for the first time. Worked just like I hoped it would. A really cool concept on what I hope will be a Crescent mainstay. I was a little worried about the thickness of the handle, but was encouraged in the fact that it felt like a fuller grip in your hand than a standard Crescent wrench. Mechanics worked well. I hope that I feel the same way in a year of using it.

Easiest adjustable wrench I’ve ever used. Received the 10″ and 6″ Crescent wrench set today (3/12) and put them right to work. Both wrenches had extra-wide openings and smooth slides that held on very snuggly while tightening bolts..The 10″ wrench is a little heavier than a regular one, but the handle is a little wider giving you more comfort, torque, and control.(a real plus for Seniors, like me) Also, both wrenches have laser-etched SAE/metric markings on the heads. Comes with a Lifetime Limited Guarantee (Repair or Replace). I have Crescent tools in my toolbox since the ’60s, and I’m very satisfied with these new slide wrenches. A flick of the thumb is all it takes to adjust. I would definitely recommend them.

This is an interesting concept, it works to some extent. The slide makes adjusting quick, but the slides tend to stick sometimes. It seems to have gotten better after some use, but occasionally I have to wiggle it to get it to slide. Once snugged up, it holds fine, even with full pressure. The downside is that the slide always moves a bit, and if you have to turn a nut / bolt multiple turns – i.e. normal use – you end up constantly readjusting the slide. The reason is that the slide is “loose,” there is nothing holding it under tension when not in use.The handle is very thick, and much more comfortable than the old thinner Crescent wrenches, especially with bare hands and heavy torque. Overall fit and finish is very good, the jaws are machined well and fit together well. If they could make the slide a bit less free sliding, this would be a winner. Still, these have a purpose, and I get good use out of them.

It works quite well I think its better than the original rolling gear that makes the adjustments to the jaws.Seems to be stronger than the original design and does not slip off the nut or bolt your holding it its jaws.

This is a different take on an adjustable wrench. The slide is a neat idea. The quality of the wrench seems solid. The adjustment slide can be done with one hand which is nice. Most jobs I am doing by myself, so a one-handed wrench is a huge plus. A six inch and ten inch are the most useful around my shop. Both the 10” and 6” open wider than normal, so these will get lots of use.

These rapid slide adjustable wrenches are a great addition to any toolbox. I would have rated them excellent had the mechanisms been smoother to operate. They quite often get “hung up” and it takes tapping to get them to slide. I like the speed of adjustment as compared to the standard gear type. The oversized and thicker handle makes them very rugged, and easier to use with gloves on. Definitely a good tool to have when you don’t have the space for a full set of wrenches, or when you aren’t sure just what size you need.

This duo of crescent wrenches will take care of all your previous crescent wrench jobs, with the added and unique feature of you being able to adjust the jaw width with one hand. The 6 inch wrench opens to just under one inch, while the 10 inch will open to about 1.25 inches. The only negative to these wrenches is the weight. They are heavy, but not at all unruly.
