This set of Crescent adjustable wrenches feature a wider jaw opening than a traditional adjustable wrench, which allows you to use them with a greater range of fastener sizes. With their larger opening, each wrench can do the work of a adjustable wrench 1 size larger. Due to their serrations on the upper jaw, these wrenches provide up to 4X more torque than a traditional adjustable wrench. The second generation adjustable wrenches boast a wider knurl for easier adjustment and a laser etched scale on the head providing a quick and convenient way to determine fastener size. Manufactured from alloy steel with a black oxide finish to resist corrosion allows the wrenches to be used in professional and industrial settings, as well as at home. The wide jaw capacity allows each tool to work with more fastener sizes. The wider handle has a non-slip cushion grip that provides better comfort and less stress on the users hand.

These two Cresent wrenches are fantastic. First Cresent is the name of the company the wrenches were named for. The 6 and 10 inch seem to be the favorite two sizes for most users. Both of these wrenches however have extra wide jaws, which let them handle larger nuts or bolts but not be so long tht they get in the way. You can see by the picture still in the package just how wide they appear. Also check the serrated jaws which grip, and the marked slide jaw for deternining the proper size.

The Crescent Brand, 6 in. and 10 in. Wide Jaw Adjustable Wrench Set (2-Piece) are adjustable wrenches that will make an excellent addition to my RV tool box for repairing the kids’ bikes to the grill. The wrench handles are a bit shorter and the jaw openings a bit wider than common adjustable wrenches making them more compact for their capabilities and portability. I would likely carry these adjustable wrenches in a tool belt, yet if working as an auto mechanic, I would opt for more conventional adjustable wrenches that were fully chrome plated for easy cleaning and offering greater rust and corrosion protection. The adjusting nut of each wrench tightens the jaws well, the jaws will often grip the fastener so well, the adjusting nut will need to be backed off to remove the wrench from the fastener. In looking around my workshop for a place to show a wrench, I found the casters of my hand truck to be loose and their retaining nuts needing to be tightened.

These two Crescent wrenches are the best wrenches I’ve ever owned. I have other Crescent wrenches but the added features and quality that these two Crescent wrenches have far exceeds my previous Crescent wrenches. I love the extra wide jaw openings and the serrations on the jaws. They are touted as 4X more torque because of the serrated jaws and the better gripping power you get. Another really nice feature is the etched SAE and metric scales on the jaws that allow for easy determination of fastener size. The larger knurl makes for easier adjustment and tighter jaw fit and no binding. All in all you get a heavier duty wrench in a smaller size because of these added improved features. Crescent has come through again. A great company that makes great tools

Superior wrench set, gets the job done better. I used the smaller wrench in this set to remove a machine-applied nut on the bottom of a lamp, a job that I have tried previously without success with lesser wrenches. The micro-serrations on the jaws of these wrenches give them the grip needed for success. Everything about the was these were designed and manufactured is of the highest quality, made to last.

These are some hefty Crescent wrenches. I am very pleased with this set of two wrenches. The best thing about them is that they are each adjustable to 1 1/2 ” wide. The second best thing is that they are made by Crescent. I have a set of four different wrenches on my tool board and love them. The only problem is that I have to guess how wide they open. Like what size is good for water hose fittings. Not with these. They go from zero to 1 1/2 in a second. They are hefty and have serrated jaws. No more slipping. The only wish I have is that the handles were a little longer. When trying to unbolt a trailer hitch, I couldn’t get enough leverage. (I know that is not what they are designed for but I had to try.) Another plus, is that they are easier to carry around. If you are looking for a super strong crescent wrench that will last you a lifetime, these are for you. They will be an excellent addition to your tool collection. The Home Depot does it again.
