Crescent 142-piece professional tool set contains a carefully selected assortment of Crescent brand hand tools needed for most industrial, mechanical, and consumer applications. The set includes 1/4″, 3/8″, and 1/2″ drive quick-release ratchets with a wide selection of standard and deep sockets in the most common SAE and metric sizes. Included in the set are the following 3/8-inch drive tools: a 60-tooth quick-release ratchet drive, 3-inch and 6-inch extension bars, 24 twelve point sockets and 15 six point deep sockets (SAE and metric). It also includes the following 1/4-inch drive tools: a 60-tooth quick-release ratchet drive, a 1/4-inch bit adapter, 3-inch extension bar, 23 six point sockets and 12 six point deep sockets (SAE and metric). It also includes the following 1/2-inch drive tools: a 60-tooth quick-release ratchet drive, 5-inch extension and 8 twelve point sockets (SAE and metric). This is a nice compact light tool set. Good carrying case which keeps every tool in its place and also easy to see if any are missing. Not a comprehensive set by any means but good for light grab and go. The only thing I wish it had more of is wrenches. There are only three sizes each of SAE and Metric. I don’t know if this is the same Crescent company that built some tools that I inherited from my grandfather, but I still use them. Last night I grabbed this set and repaired my son’s mower. It had what I needed and worked great.

This is a very nice and complete tool set. Its the only one I’ve ever had that comes with 3 ratchets (1/4, 3/8, and 1/2). It really covers most needs as it has a good complement of both SAE and metric sockets. It has a good number of deep sockets and extension bars, combination wrenches, SAE and metric hex keys, and a screw driver with various bits. The ratchets are pretty standard – easy to lock and remove sockets and switch rotation. I also like that the stamped-on size labels are larger compared to other sets I’ve seen – this makes it much easier to read. That alone makes this the first set I will pull out when needed.The case is nice and the only complaint would have about it, is that you can’t lock it. There is a hole that you could pass a wire through, but it is way too small for a padlock.

The “Crescent” brand 1/4 in., 3/8 in. and 1/2 in. Drive SAE/Metric Mechanics Tool Set (142-Piece) is a great tool kit. I have a bundle of old tools I’ve had for 30 plus years (not it a handy plastic carrying case) that I’m replacing with great tools sets from Home Depot. This “Crescent” multi drive socket will be just one of the many sets that I will be adding to my new tool collection. This kit came in it’s own carrying case-a feature that I really like. Just open up the case and every ratchet and socket has it’s own slot. Makes it easier to grab the correct size. Excellent socket set with 1/2, 3/8, and 1/4 sockets, ratchets, extensions, some open end wrenches, and misc. but necessary accessories. The full set replaces many, many, missing items from my other sets due to letting people borrow my tools. Yeah, I know, but they were family. I would recommend highly that you mark the sides of your case for these tools as this side up, and open from other side as shown in these pictures. Also, keep a foam divider between the sides to prevent the smaller sockets from dropping into the other side when carrying the tools around. Open it up from the wrong side and all the tools will fall out all over the place. However, open properly and keeping a spacer in the case prevents all these problems and will make you one happy camper.PS I carry these in my jeep when offroading as well.
