nice tool set and the smooth edges of the ratchets gives a nice feel to the hands while using it and a great study case with good latches to keep it close. I would highly recommend this tool set!

A very nice starter tool set. Crescent tools are high quality. You can tell that at first glance. Nice finish oral components. The ratchets especially are heavy duty with a unique shape. The Crescent adjustable wrench is probably the best one available. This set contains everything you’ll need to get many jobs done. It is a starter set and there are many additional pieces needed for assembling a full tool box, but this is an excellent start.

A great gift for someone who is just starting out or moving away from home. Has all the basic size wrenches and sockets. Half are metric, half are SAE so there isn’t as many as you think. The carrying container is well made so can get knocked around. Every piece fits snug in the molded case. the case has a raise number to keep each wrench or socket in the right place. The ratchet has a smooth ball bearing release button. Sockets stay on tight but slide off easily when the button is pressed. The screwdriver handle is nice and fat and just soft enough to be comfortable. The hole through the handle can handle a lock or zip tie for a little theft protection and extra security if the latches pop off. I almost knocked off one star because the case is great to keep everything neat and tidy and portable but it also prevents you from expanding the set. However I put it back because it’s such a great price even if it didn’t come with the carrying case. You can always buy a tool box when the time comes to expand.

An excellent set of baseline mechanic’s tools. Acquired this beautiful set with plans to donate it to a mechanic’s trade school my family is associated with. Wrestled with keeping it for myself but I won’t give it the use it deserves. I’m impressed by the inclusion of a large set of 1/4 inch driver tips – yankee, phillips, allen and even torx. The plastic case with four clips for secure closure is nice for display and finding any tool quickly, but the tools will surely outlast the case.

Bought it for my emergency sailboat repairs. Has everything I would ever need. Hope it holds out in the marine environment.

This 3/8 in. Drive Mechanics Tool Set (128-Piece) is perfect for the vehicle and/or the home. It has pretty much everything you will need for most jobs. The only thing I wish it had is a magnetic retrieval tool, because the last thing I want is to loose a socket down under the car engine where I can’t reach it. The case seems pretty sturdy, except for the red clasps. I think they might break quickly if you open and close it a lot.

I’m very happy with my new 128 piece tool set made by Crescent. Growing up we had all the Crescent brand adjustable wrenches and they took a serious amount of abuse. Incredibly my dad still has them and uses them on a regular basis. This tool set has everything you need to do most DIY projects that involve screws and bolts. The ratchet is smoothly polished and fits nicely in my hand. The driver handle is tapered and although smooth, has an inlayed rubber pattern that gives a good gripping surface. Lots of driver bits are included.

Crescent is a name that’s been around for a long time. This was a Christmas present for my son to start his collection. It’s a very nice set that I’m sure will last him decades.

This is without a doubt the most complete tool kit I have ever owned. I have purchased kits in the past that boasted 100 pieces or more but I got a bunch of hacksaw blades, allen wrenches and electrical tape. However this kit has it all. Three different drive ratchets and sockets including deep well sockets in SAE and Metric as well as combo wrenches and screw drivers..I have lots of tools but this is a complete kit to cover almost any job and comes in a heavy duty case that fits behind the seat of my pick-up very nicely.

Very nice well organized tool set, great for the do it yourselfer. They look well made . I have no idea where they are made because I looked on a few tools ( adjustable wrench, ratchets , sockets, etc. ) No country or where they are made. Hard for me to rate these since I have a variety of Snap On and Mac tools. Just watch how you open the case or else you’ll have sockets and other items all over the place. Always put the foam divider back in the case before you close it to keep tools snug in the case. This tool set would suit the weekend DIYer. The ratchets have some weight to them and look well made, time will tell. I really can’t say a negative thing about the tool set, however some improvement with the plastic case can be made and the latches that hold the case together need improved also, sometimes hard to open and hard to close. I can always move some tools around in my tool chests to put these in and toss the plastic case. Overall I gave these tools 5 stars and didn’t deduct for the plastic case since I wont be using it. I highly recommend this tool set for the home or garage or in the trunk of your car.

Mechanics Tool Set (170-Piece) by Crescent includes many useful tools such as 1/4 in. 3/8 in. and 1/2 in. Ratchet Drive with sockets for 6 and 12-Point SAE/Metric . The collection of screw driver bits (Square, hex, Torx, etc. ) is a plus. The tools in the kit offer desirable features, have an attractive finish and appear to be well made and should last the average user a lifetime. When closed, the tool case is secured by four (4) plastic latches; two in front and one on each side. The durability of these plastic latches is a genuine concern. The carrying handle has a slightly soft feel but the kit is heavy to carry. The case depth is ~4 ins. and is ~20 ins. at widest.Re-securing the combination wrenches in the case took more effort than was comfortable for my old hands. The mold for the 14mm combination wrench does not allow the wrench to be secured ( 14mm combo-wrench was loose upon 1st opening the case ).Always remember to open/close the tool case from the TOP half only ( look for Crescent Logo) and always use the thin foam divider provided. If the case is opened/closed incorrectly or the foam sheet is not used, the Sockets will spill out as they are just laying in case-molds and are NOT secured in the bottom half of the case (poor design). This tool kit might be appropriate to keep in a vehicle for emergency use or as gift for someone without tools. This tool kit and case are quite heavy ~21 lbs. The current price does represent consumer value versus buying the tools individually.Retail packaging reports made in China.

I have not used every tool in this kit, the few I have used worked as expected. The case is solid. It has four clasps to hold it closed. No complaints at this point
