I got the CRESCENT 6 IN. Z2 DIPPED HANDLE SLIP JOINT PLIERS because I had lost my pliers in my last move. It is really hard to do things if you have no Pliers, I found myself using Needle Nose Pliers. I do a lot of my own repairs in my home and need good tools, the CRESCENT 6 IN. Z2 DIPPED HANDLE SLIP JOINT PLIERS fit the bill perfectly. I recommend these Pliers to anyone, gets the job done.

Ordered this and the Gearwrench pliers as part of the Seeds process hoping to compare the two. These pliers are practically identical with exception of the handles. They are even made by the same company, Apex Tool Group although they state on the package Product of Vietnam, finished in China. These pliers seem to be well mad and sturdy. I found the grip size and feel somewhat small for my hands. They have a smooth action and adjust easily. This pair has none of the indentation on the inside of the handles like the Gearwrench which is not a performance issue. The handle coating seems to be a little thin and looks like it could shift or peel easily Wire cutter works well.I took one star off for the handle size.Overall, a good pair of pliers that should last a while.

These pliers are good, but while trying to cut a thick plastic coated coat hanger this pair of pliers were difficult to use for cutting the coat hanger.although they are small they are too far apart on the handle to get a good grip to cut the coat hanger.even with my hand over my knee it was very difficult to cut the coat hanger and with dexterity problems it was even worse. i love the front end of these pliers as they have a slimmed design which allows one to go into tight spots (see pic).they are also great for grasping small nails to be pulled out due to the cross-hatched teeths.

The Crescent 6 inch slip joint plier is well made. It has red dipped handles for comfort, cross-checked gripping tips and a solidly-grooved gripping portion. There is also an integrated wire cutter. My only suggested improvement would be to have an adjustment mechanism to tighten the action. I know to function effectively, the action has to be somewhat loose, but it feels a little too loose for my preference. Note:I don’t mean to say that there is extra play… there is not.

The Crescent 6″ Z2 slip joint handle pliers are a step up from lesser pliers. The quality is in the extra steps taken to make a superior product. I appreciate the cross-hatched teeth in the jaws that can grip at any angle. It took an extra setup to make sets of teeth like that instead of just straight-across teeth, that can slip if something is pulled at the wrong angle. I appreciate the thick vinyl dip on the handles, that involves heating the handles much hotter and leaving them in the liquid vinyl bath much longer than the competition to get a thick coating. It just feels right in the hand. I expect this pair to last me for years.
