I am a big fan of my Crescent Diagonal Cutting Pliers. The leverage that these pliers provide are like nothing I’ve used before. They really make you feel stronger than you are until you pick up a normal pair of cutting pliers.The grips are very comfortable which is important for making dozens of cuts in a row.I’ve used these pliers to cut wire, nails, and even a few tree limbs. The only negative is that one of the tips of these pliers broke when I tried to cut a nail too close to the tip of the pliers. I don’t think this has a lot to do with the quality of steel, I think you are capable of applying so much pressure, the steel fails. I suppose you can chalk this up to user error but either way, I have to give it four stars with your standard diagonal pliers getting 3 stars.The Crescent Diagonal Cutting pliers are a clear upgrade from the standard. I do recommend them but steer clear of expecting too much from the tip.

WHILE THE CUTTING EDGE IS SUPERB, IT HAS A LIMITED LIFESPAN DUE TO WEAKNESS OF THE SPRING. YOU CAN EXPECT 3 MONTHS OF LIFE BASED UPON DAILY USAGE WHEREUPON THE SPRING BREAKS AND RENDERS ITS’ RETURN ACTION ZERO.

I bought one of these but couldn’t remember where. I searched the internet and found I could order them through Home Depot. I went to their store and had them order it into the store…ie…free freight. Home Depot performed beautifully as they have on other products I’ve ordered through them. These pliers are spring loaded. I have been purchasing these for my holiday production warehouse workers for at least 10 years. This year there is a noticeable difference in quality. The spring mechanism is not as smooth and metal closer seems misaligned (gets caught on rubber handle) causing them not to close completely.

I purchased these pliers about a week ago and must say that they live up to the claims. Cutting with them is quick, simple and precise and they fit in the hand like a dream.My one complaint is that the locking mechanism to keep them closed when not in use easily flips closed in the middle of using the pliers, meaning you have to stop what you are doing and unlock it frequently.
