I’ve just bought this kit to upgrade my QNAP TS-253D 2-Bay NAS which I also bought it here (https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1569159-REG/qnap_ts_253d_4g_us_ts_253d_2_bay_desktop_nas.html). I can confirm system is up and running with 16GBs of ram instead of 4Gbs which is the max stock ram for the device.

I chose 2666 MHz because some computer owners had a problem(s) with the 3000 MHz capacity that induced some harmful overeating. I had selected the maximum capacity my laptop can endure according to Lenovo (computer manufacturer); so I had to avoid the maximum of MHz offered.
