This kit from Crucial provides two 8GB DDR3 1866 MHz SODIMM Memory modules to offer 16GB of RAM for your notebook or small form factor system. Each memory module is designed to run at 1866 MT/s frequency (PC3-14900) with a CAS latency of 13. It is a dual memory module that requires 1.35V power. To use DDR3 memory, your system must have both a SODIMM slot and a chipset that supports DDR3 memory.

With their ram finder, crucial.com states that this is the 8gb ram meant for 27, 5k Retina, Late 2015 iMacs. That may be incorrect, but that’s coming from the manufacturer of the memory. I don’t have this ram or an iMac yet (currently thinking about it and looking at memory upgrades). There seems to be at least a few different ram options (from Crucial anyway) that seem equivalent (essentially the same specs) but aren’t I guess…

Works good, easy to install in Late 2015 27 iMac, in fact, it was harder to get out of the package than it was to install in the computer!The memory is recognized perfectly by the iMac and is working alongside the 8GB that came with the computer without issue.I just wish B&H would have had the 32GB kit when I ordered.

This ram is perfect for Imac Retina 5k late 2015 (27” Skylake), faster and much ceaper than the one sold by Apple itself. No compatibility issues at all.

Recently purchased Late 2015 27 5K iMac with 8GB, thinking about upgrading the RAM on my own. Bought 2 of these 8GB Crucial (16GB total) to replace the current RAM. Computer was working, but there was screen flickering all over the place. So I didn’t like that. Sticking with Apple’s 4GB x 2 RAM for my iMac for now. NOTE: this is a new computer. I’m writing this review in December 2015. This could be an update issue that will be fixed in 2016… But for now, I’m staying with Apple’s RAM.
