I installed two 8gb modules into a machine that had 8Gb. I’m now running a 24 GB machine. My late 2015 27″ Retina iMac is running great. I did not move any memory around. I left the two original 4GB Modules in place and inserted the new 8GB modules in the empty slots. Anyone can do this. YouTube it before you start and you’ll be fine.

I needed to bump my Lenovo W540 from 16G to 32G to support some hefty business applications. Since I am expecting to get a new laptop within the next year I bought the fastest memory kit ((1866Mhz rather than matching 1600Mhz) for a few extra bucks in anticipation of transplanting it when the time comes. Typical of B&H, they have the best prices, free shipping, and it arrived the next day. Typical of Crucial, the memory installed and works perfectly. This is life the way it ought to be!
