I have never had enough RAM. Finally I thought my memory problems would be solved. I use Adobe Photoshop and Premiere Pro for extensive photo and video artwork creation. I use Adobe Dreamweaver and Bridge to work on my website. I work more than 8 hours a day. The 3 star rating is to say average. It might deserve 5 stars. I can’t tell where my artifacts are coming from because I updated the operating system, played with a new iPad and iCloud, and added a new external drive all at the same time. The probrems mainly come from the video editing program. Large areas of the screen become festively embroidered in colorful patterns. I can’t multitask. I restart often. I should say that installation was simple and my iMac reports the correct amount of RAM. Perhaps my problems are the Video Memory. So do not take this as a negative review. It is an I am in troubleshooting mode review.

I used this upgrade kit to bump up iMac 5K RAM from 8 to 16GB. Apple is charging 3 times as much but as long as RAM door is still user accessible, I decided to upgrade myself. It took me 3 minutes to lay iMac down on its screen, pop the back RAM door, install two cards, close the door and place iMac back. Very painless process that anyone can do. iMac recognized RAM immediately and I noticed significant speed improvement with doubling my RAM. I am not playing games or using heavy multimedia applications but LR is working much faster and processing of the photos takes less time. I am highly recommending this product.

Installed the modules to replace the original 8gb from my Sony VAIO L Series 24 Multi-Touch All-in-One Desktop Computer. The price is really competitive and Crucial is a reliable manufacturer so I was confident about the memory reliability. The memory modules do not smoothly fit the memory slots of my VAIO but they still lock properly so it’s all that counts. The memory modules came in a transparent hard plastic box with no protective antistatic wrapping to protect them which was a bit odd to me. I guess that’s the new rule in packaging today. Despite everything I mentioned above, it’s a great and very reliable product.
