I increased my RAM from 8 to 16,my speed seems to have increased by a factor of 3! Some of it may be arrivistes to replacing the HD with a SSD !

This memory upgrade made my mid 2012 Macbook Pro functional again after a recent OS update to Catalina. The existing 4 GB of RAM was not enough to allow Lightroom to load. A new Samsung 1TB SSD will be installed shortly to speed things up to the maximum that this machine is capable of. The Ram was easily installed and was recognized immediately.
