Each SODIMM module is compatible with systems that have an available 204-pin memory slot. For performance, it runs at a speed of 1600 MHz (PC3L-12800) and has a CAS latency of 11. Additionally, the DDR3L memory chips can operate at 1.35V or 1.5V.

A great product without question. The great thing about Crucial Memory is their websites and how it pinpoints the correct memory for your device. I have used Crucial every time I update Ram memory. The memory modules fit my system perfectly. Installation was problem free. My note book computer booted up and recognized the amount of new Ram memory Instantly. Replaced the original Synology DDR3 1600 2GB CL11 1.5V RAM in the internal slot with this Crucial DDR3L 1600 1.35V CL11 RAM. Everything works as expected. I am considering buying another one to expand in the external slot. A small gotcha: originally I installed this 1.35V new RAM in the external slot, only to find that the system did not boot. Soon I realized that the original RAM was of 1.5V voltage and all RAMs had to be on the same voltage.

A lot of folks don’t understand the differences between DDR3 and DDR3L. You can put DDR3L in place of DDR3 but not vice versa. If the Motherboard can do it, it uses less power at a lower voltage. I build and repair lots of older style PCs and custom units. This Crucial RAM is excellent, it is highly reliable and B&H sell it at a very competitive price.

Reason for 3 stars is we got 4 sticks to replace the RAM in a new 27 iMac and 2 were bad. B&H was great as always and are replacing the faulty RAM.

I was hoping to use this upgrade in a MacBook Pro mid-2010 (macbookpro7,1) – I was hoping the memory would downclock to 1066 Mhz. Sadly it did not. Fortunately, I also have a mid-2011 Mac mini (macmini5,3) and this memory work in it and had the positive side effect of clocking up to 1600 Mhz. So far so goo.

This was better than buying direct from crucial! Order laptop and desktop memory. B&H cam thru within 3 days, where as the delivery from crucial is lost and they are a pain to deal with. Going on 3 weeks without direct from Crucial. So wish B&H would have had the other memory as well. B&H is great!
