The 8GB DDR3L 1600 MHz SODIMM Memory Module Kit from Crucial comes with two 4GB modules that are designed for notebooks and compact desktop systems. Each SODIMM module is compatible with systems that have an available 204-pin memory slot. For performance, it runs at a speed of 1600 MHz (PC3L-12800) and has a CAS latency of 11. Additionally, the DDR3L memory chips can operate at 1.35V or 1.5V.

Now, while I know my fair share about computers, I am not the master of all. The RAM stick I ordered arrived in a timely manner, all in one piece, and even had easy to remove packaging. While installation was a pain, that was due to me having never done something like replacing RAM before. This site has the stick cheaper than other places, and is a great value for upgrading a computer. I will probably get my next processor from here as well, as it will arrive quickly and in great condition.

I installed two new ram chips on the back side, but I had to take apart the laptop to replace the two ram ship under the keyboard. That was a little time consuming and scary, but that allowed me to clean out the dust. The laptop initially booted up a little slowly on the first boot, and it also re-started the welcome screen twice… a little scary but, it did boot up and so far so good. The real test will be editing video in Premiere Pro CC. Works great! Buy ’em!

As usual my B&H order arrived without a hitch. It arrived early morning the day it was supose to . The schedule said I would receive it after 5pm that day.My computers 2 module ports were supose to be in two seperate areas of my chasis. They were actually stacked on top one and other. This leads me to believe that my mid 2012 MB Pro may not be a mid 2012 but some different year maybe. I purchased it from mac remanufacturer . Everything is working good and thank you B&H. Upgrading your RAM is a big deal in terms of speeding up your computer. I am going to upgrade my storage as well (I currently have about 20 GB of storage left) but even with the limited storage I have, my laptop is significantly faster. Definitely a good buy.
