The 8GB DDR3L 1600 MHz SODIMM Memory Module Kit from Crucial comes with two 4GB modules that are designed for notebooks and compact desktop systems. Each SODIMM module is compatible with systems that have an available 204-pin memory slot. For performance, it runs at a speed of 1600 MHz (PC3L-12800) and has a CAS latency of 11. Additionally, the DDR3L memory chips can operate at 1.35V or 1.5V.

Arrived quickly, easy to install. 4GB is no longer adequate for today’s Mac OS plus other software. These 8GB replacements were a good value, were easy to install, and worked right away to eliminate the ‘thrashing that made every action excruciatingly slow. Now bootup and login are reasonably fast. Might have gone to the 16GB option – perhaps later, but 8 is fine. Also considering a solid state storage drive. That’s the other slow item on these otherwise good desktop computers.

You can actually speak with a person, unlike other sites where you just place an order and hope for the best. Make sure you watch a replacement video before trying to replace your own RAM. Make sure you do not exceed the maximum amount of RAM stated by your laptop’s manufacturer. I put this RAM model in a Toshiba Satellite L650 (PSK2CU-14701X) and had no problems. Went from 3GB to 8GB and applications open much faster. For a full upgrade, I recommend also upgrading your HDD to an SSD that supports your motherboard’s SATA speeds.

I purchased 2 of these to upgrade the memory in WD PR4100 NAS. Unfortunately, 1 of the 2 modules received was DOA. B&H replaced the DOA module without question. Original and replacement module are working perfectly in WD PR4100 NAS.

Crucial memory has the best track record in my experience. I have upgraded Macs and PC’s since the early 90’s and memory upgrades can be tricky. The voltage variations. motherboard variations, etc have led me to often returning a memory purchase. It has not happened with any of my purchased Crucial memory,

I am using a non-retina 13 mid 2012 MacBook Pro that came with 4 GB of ram. This is a great computer, but being in the middle of my senior year of college I could not afford any sluggishness.
