Added it with existing 4gb ram. Now it shows I have 20gb (more than its limit shown on Apple’s documentation online) which speeds up photoshop & other apps. I’m less worried about running more than one app at a time now. Install instructions are easy to follow from Apple’s website but be careful handling and pushing in the modules they can take some extra force to get in. See that they are at the same depth as the original memory. Save money buy these instead.

I use this product to increase the ram in my iMac mid 2011 quad core 27 inch. I purchased the computer with 4 gigs of ram. I purchased 2 sets of this product to max out the ram for my computer to 16 gb. The iMac itself gives clear instructions on how to add ram and was very easy to do. It would’ve cost me an arm and a leg to have apple do it for me,, this is a better option
