This 16 GB of RAM does work correctly in the 2012 MacBook Pro and it is recognized at 1600 MHz. All the functions of the MacBook Pro are working in perfection. With 16GB of RAM multitasking is a breeze. Memory installation is fairly easy. There are several youtube videos which demonstrate RAM installation in MacBook Pro. There are step by step instructions as well on apple’s website. Crucial memory are well respected and have won several awards for quality and reliability. So if you are in market to upgrade the RAM of your MacBook Pro 2012, this memory is highly recommended.

Crucial brand memory is always guaranteed to be a great product in my opinion. This module went in easy without any problems and was instantly recognized by my macbook. It’s been zinging along ever since. I run a lot of code with many windows open (excel, several terminal windows, chrome, etc) and with the increased memory my computer no longer hangs.

I bought this memory upgrade for my late-2013 iMac and it’s a perfect fit. I was apprehensive mixing memory from different makers and different sizes. No problems installing and the iMac started right up, no issues or problems. Installation couldn’t be easier. I use this for editing photos in Photoshop CC and Lightroom. Some functions are processor bound and/or I/O bound if using external drives for scratch disks. This isn’t the ultimate solution for those processes but overall it’s a good improvement.

I purchased this kit the same time I bought a 4gb Ma ini. I never even powered the unit on before installing the RAM kit. As expected, the installation took about 2 minutes (1 of which was getting the swivel locks to close again on the Mini) and the Mini has had no problems with the RAM upgrade. Since I’ve been installing RAM in Macs since the convoluted ‘snip the diode’ Mac 512KE era, this was a no brainer and at an enormous cost savings compared to Apples bloated RAM fees. Crucial RAM tends to be reliable and they do follow through on their warranties from past experience. With newer Macs basically being sealed units, the era of RAM upgrades may be coming to an ends, but as long as I can still do this minor upgrade myself, I shall do so.

I regularly run Adobe Lightroom and Logic Pro X on this iMac (3.4GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i5 27-inch, Mid 2014) and prefer to have the RAM maxed out to support the added real time data streaming processes. This iMac is a reasonably fast machine so the upgrade did not yield any noticeable speed improvements.

Arrived quickly, easy to install. 4GB is no longer adequate for today’s Mac OS plus other software. These 8GB replacements were a good value, were easy to install, and worked right away to eliminate the ‘thrashing that made every action excruciatingly slow. Now bootup and login are reasonably fast. Might have gone to the 16GB option – perhaps later, but 8 is fine. Also considering a solid state storage drive. That’s the other slow item on these otherwise good desktop computers.
