I bought Mac mini with only 4GB of RAM as I was not sure how I would use it. Now that I am putting more stuff on this small box, and especially playing with virtual machines in Parallels, I definitely need more memory. Choosing Crucial/Micron over other brands was a no-brainer, I’ve been using Micron for more than 10 years and have nothing to complain. Installation in Mac mini is very easy, too, and does not require any tools. Surprisingly enough, buying the same sticks from Crucial directly would be more expensive, plus Crucial charges sales tax in California. So again, money well spent.

This memory was fully compatible with my 27″ 2013 iMac!!! Works great!! After researching this memory, it showed to be fast, as fast as any other memory or faster. Did a mem check on the iMac and it showed to be fully functional. I bought 2 8gb sticks because apple said they should be in pairs of 2.

Replaced the original Synology DDR3 1600 2GB CL11 1.5V RAM in the internal slot with this Crucial DDR3L 1600 1.35V CL11 RAM. Everything works as expected. I am considering buying another one to expand in the external slot. A small gotcha: originally I installed this 1.35V new RAM in the external slot, only to find that the system did not boot. Soon I realized that the original RAM was of 1.5V voltage and all RAMs had to be on the same voltage.
