These Crucial memory modules were perfect for swapping out the shipped 2Gb of my WD My Cloud PR4100 Pro NAS. Basic installed memory were okay but this upgrade sure put the zip into almost all operations including transcoding on the fly for the installed Plex Media Server app. A worthwhile investment imho.

The upgrade was quite easy to install. Just power down your iMac, unplug the power cable, and release memory cover by pressing release button that is visible once power plug is removed. There are then 2 levers to lower the memory tray. Handle the memory modules by the edges and you should have no problems. There are several YouTube videos that provide detailed instructions. The upgrade is fully compatible with the Apple 8GB memory (2 x 4GB modules) delivered with a standard Retina 5k iMac. Increased memory to 24GB which provided much improved performance with Lightroom CC (photo merge in particular).
