These SODIMMs were purchased to upgrade my new iMac 5K 27-inch i5 3.5 GHz machine (2017) from the delivered 8 MB memory configuration to 24 MB of memory. These SODIMMs met the electrical and mechanical specifications found in the Apple documentation for my model and were easily installed without issues. The new memory was properly detected upon the next power-up and has performed flawlessly as expected so far. The memory kit price was competitive and my prior experience with Crucial memory has been completely positive.

Apple makes wonderful computers, but charges an arm and a leg for upgrading the RAM. Order your iMac through B&H to save the tax with minimum RAM and buy the 16GB (2 x 8GB) or 32GB (2x 16GB) memory kit to give you a total of 24 or 40GB. From my days of building windows computers, when I got the 2x16GB kit, I elected to remove the 2x4GB memory boards and put the new 2x16GB in their place. Then I put the original 2x4GB boards in the remaining 2 slots. See the accompanying photo of the boards installed. My rationale for this was that the motherboard was very likely designed to access 2 boards at a time in an ‘interleaved’ fashion, so you need to put equal memory in each one of the paired slots. I used the largest memory in the first pair of interleaved slots, as there is a small slow-down when a program memory needs crosses the pair boundary. In this case, I made that pair boundary as high as I could at 32GB by putting the largest memory cards in the first paired slots. Usually 32GB will hold all of my needs and nothing will have to cross the pair boundary’

Good product. Work well with my laptop I am not satisfied with the shipping. I think the seller has to promise me the money that I paid for shipping because the product got me 50 days although I paid to get it within 15 days

It was wonderful upgrading from 16 GB (2x8GB) to 32GB (2x16GB)! I performed the upgrade after having my computer for about 20 months, and it was like getting a new computer! I didn’t have any issues with the upgrade, and because I did my research on the front end, the RAM was the perfect fit, and matched speed to the original RAM. If you’re looking for a quick speed boost for your PC, I recommend upgrading (doubling) your RAM after upgrading to SSD (if you don’t already have SSD).

So far this RAM is great and B&H has always had the best price for computer parts so far for me. But the main reason why I’m writing is that I had miss selected the RAM type but replacing it really fast and easy. Thanks you all are swell!

I’ve got an HP 15-bs234wm laptop and decided to upgrade from the factory 4gb RAM to this Crucial 8gb RAM and I am extremely satisfied. Laptop feels like it’s been opened up and is noticeably snappier. B&H had one of the best prices out there on this particular item and I didn’t hesitate to order from them. They are very reputable and have been for years. If anyone is looking for a nice (and affordable) upgrade for a machine, I would highly recommend this product.
