We’re still in the early days of using our new toaster, so this rating is a bit premature. The rating is based on (1) the attractive design & counter-fit of the toaster; (2) it’s affordable price; and (3) it’s performance of delivering even-toasting (if not a bit slow in the process), without creating a heat hazard of the toaster’s body in the process.

I purchased this as a replacement of a prior version of the same model that started toasting unevenly after many years of use. This version is slightly different in minor ways from its predecessor…you know how engineers like to change things! The fact that I stuck with the same model should say something in itself.Overall, it works great, toasts evenly, and has nice features. Just one minor difference from its predecessor that is a step backward. It is hard to engage the down position locking mechanism unless you push hard and fast. It resists locking if there is not sufficient momentum. In fact, if you push down slowly, the toaster may even attempt to tip towards you rather than engage the lock position.This may be related to the fact that the “cancel” button actually releases the lock and the slots pop up. I do not recall the older version doing that, though frankly I did not have to use cancel that much. With that small caveat, I recommend this toaster.
