The rating is based on (1) the attractive design & counter-fit of the toaster; (2) it’s affordable price; and (3) it’s performance of delivering even-toasting (if not a bit slow in the process), without creating a heat hazard of the toaster’s body in the process.

This was a replacement of similar toaster that served us well until it suddenly quit working. After 10+ years I wasn’t too unhappy and when Wirecutter recommended the same toaster I was in. It is fine but wish it wasn’t plastic this time. Not quite as good as the one it replaced but not a big surprise

Bought this to replace old Cuisinart Toaster (had for years & years) – they sure don’t make things like they used to anymore. Like EVERYTHING new today, it’s low quality & surely not made to last. How sad the world is, the quality of merchandise is getting worse, instead of better, as you’d think it would be better, with all the advancements in technology?? Instead, companies have figured out how to charge us more for low quality merchandise, now forcing us to rebuy them more often?? Very Sad!!

I am very happy I read reviews before purchasing three of them. I am giving two as Christmas gifts. It’s been years since I had a toaster that worked the way a toaster should. All elements inside the 4 slots heat up and the dials are accurate as to the toasting of the bread. I have several Cuisinart products and have been happy with all of them. Cuisinart also made this appliance affordable which allowed me to purchase 3 four slice toasters.

I really wanted to give this a higher rating but there are two things that bug me about this toaster. The first is that it doesn’t seem to toast as evenly on both sides as it should. The second, which is really annoying is the “Bagel” button is a joke. On my old toaster, this meant it would only toast on one side. That is not that case with this toaster. With this toaster, it means it toasts longer. Ridiculous. I really wanted to like this toaster. The white is nice. The small footprint is nice. The price was nice. C’mon you can do better!
