Great classic toaster. Replaced a plastic toaster that was cracking and finally broke a heating element. This one works much better and very consistent with bagels or whole wheat bread.

Generally well made but the rotary dial is very sensitive to touch and can be easily moved by bumping into it. A good brown toast is only 2.5 out of 6. I accidentally hit the dial with a corner of bread moving it to just over 3 and it produced a very dark brown, almost burnt toast. I can only conclude moving to 6 would produce pure carbon. I’m not displeased with my purchase but no happy dance either.

When I put to toast bread it still gets darker on one side then the other. And I don’t have it on the bagel setting.

Actually 3.5 stars. When set at 5 my toast has no color. The bread is warm and feels toasted but it looks yellow not brown or tan. If set higher, it burns.

Enjoy the toaster. Only drawback is that it will sometimes toss the toasted bread out of the toaster unto the counter or floor. It evenly browns both sides of item placed in it.
