I only gave this toaster a 3-star rating because it only toasts on one side. If you put the setting on 2 or higher, it burns it. On a setting on 1, it only toasts on 1 side, not both.

Slightly better than the Oster toaster that it replaced. It toasts evenly on about 75% of the surface. On bagels, there is always one edge very dark and opposite edge always much lighter. I expected better from Cuisinart because the coffeemaker is outstanding and the coffee bean grinder is very good as well. I also paid 50% more for Cuisinart over Oster.

Works quite well. I don’t know the value of the “bagel” setting since I don’t usually toast whole or half bagels. I usually slice them so I get 3 or 4 slices to toast. Like the red color – goes with our kitchen backsplash.
