After trying several major brands that did NOT work properly I got this one on the recommendation of my brother and niece. It works well but what I do not like is I was searching for something totally made in America and this, like everything else, is from China. This toaster is rather expensive (for a toaster) so you are paying for the BRAND Name. The toaster parts and assembly are not that expensive when you look at it but the majority of their profit is paying for the brand. I do not like this and it is not kind to the customer.

Toasts relatively even and consistent. Easy to use controls except push down lever takes a lot of force to get down. Best toaster I’ve found and I’ve tried several.

We bought this toaster along with a new coffee maker when we remodeled our kitchen. They both look great and work well. I like the clean lines of this model. It is easy to operate and toasts well. The only complaint I have is how easily the finish gets fingerprints and how hard they are to remove. I usually end up having to get out the stainless steel clean to get both appliances totally shiny.

Compared to my previous toaster – which was somewhat compact – it seems a little larger than necessary. But, the size also – purposefully or not – creates insulation between the searing heat and the bottom perimeter of the toaster. This makes it possible to move the toaster right after use.

This toaster actually toasts! I bought Cuisinart because I respect the brand and because I knew if it didn’t operate as advertised, they’d stand behind it. We’re using it mostly for bagels – I like mine toasted dark, and “7” does it dark. My wife likes a “4” setting and with the numeric display, you don’t have to guess. The countdown indicator and the beep-when-done features mean you don’t have to hover over the toaster. I didn’t get the one with the motorized lower & raise because I want the ability to extend the lift level for those shorter items.

Seems very “tinnie” and cannot read the setting very well. Supposed to tell you when toast is almost done and I haven’t seen that done. Don’t expect it to last long because I use it a lot.
