I’m disappointed in this skillet. The metal is so lightweight that the sides of the skillet don’t get hot. That’s a plus so you don’t get burnt, but if the pancakes run into the curve where the sides start, the pancake doesn’t cook. When cooking, make sure you keep everything away from the edges.

Would prefer it without Teflon which all seem to have these days. A digital temperature control would also be preferable. I had a very loved Farber ware electric skillet which was not Teflon and it was the BEST. I had to replace the control unit once in the thirty years I had it but I could not find another replacement after that broke – so I have bought and thrown out three Teflon coated low priced ones over the past decade. What a waste! I hope this new Cuisinart is durable in all ways. Quite good in its first month!

I had a Cuisinart electric skillet for years and loved it. I cooked with it almost daily until it finally wore out (probably 15-20 years of use). I recently replaced it via an online order. The new skillet doesn’t seem to cook as well as the old one. I suspect there is something wrong with the heating element.

The skillet is actually wonderful but it has a loud humming noise until it reaches the set temperature which is alarming. Otherwise I would have given it a 5 star review.

Nice skillet and easy to use. I noticed that it does make a loud humming noise. Also, the outside area doesn’t get as hot as the middle area. It’s easy to wash and get clean after cooking.

I absolutely love my new skillet. It’s like having an extra stove in the house without the need to mess up the entire stovetop every time I cook. The only problem I’m trying to work through is heat regulation. I find that the heat is difficult to control, especially when I’m frying something with or without breading. I’ll put it in hot oil and it seems to be ok, but then I find that the heat decreases and the frying seems to have stopped. Same thing with cooking liquids. A slow boil goes so low after a few minutes that I check to make sure it’s not off. I have to keep increasing the temperature and then watch it carefully to turn it back down when it gets going. Cooking time has significantly increased on many dishes because of this.
