   It doesn’t chop onion unless it’s in smaller pieces and then gets stuck. I didn’t use the base to hold any food in. I had a different brand chopper years ago and was hoping this one would work as well if not better but didn’t unfortunately.

   It is a good product. I bought it after having the pampered chef one. The only thing I dont like about it is that the blade encasement doesn’t open up so it makes cleaning difficult..
