I show them what has to be done, then tell them about this excellent Wine Opener. It has a foil cutter that is easy to use and the pulling out the cork out just takes holding the bottle and pressing down the key. Getting the cork out of the opener is also very easy. I use this at home with all my mine snob friends.

I had a Waring before that wore out. I bought the Cuisinart because of the Cuisinart name and reputation and I have other Cuisinart products in my home. This is slow and I was worried it would even work on the artificial corks. It finally did remove the artificial cork, but it took several attempts. It works fine on real corks. I don’t think this is as good as other Cuisinart products I have and use. And I have quite a bit.

After a few failures I found this very easy to use. Ensure you hold the button down until it does stop, otherwise you will have issues getting the cork out of the bottle. To sum it up, after user error I found this to be a great wine bottle opener.

We purchased this on the basis of its status as an America’s Test Kitchen equipment review winner and we’re glad that we did. Because it’s so different from every opener that we’ve used there were some minor issues at first. If the opener has even the slightest variance from a vertical placement to the cork center before you press the button it will cant off at an angle as it screws into the cork. This makes removing the cork from the bottle a bit more difficult. It’s still a lot easier that a standard corkscrew and very affordable.
