My husband has wanting a programmable coffeemaker for some time now. We finally purchased this one and we couldnt be happier. We use it to brew coffee before he gets up for work and it’s wonderful. It comes on at the proper time and has an auto-shutoff that makes life less stressful if we happen to forget to turn the pot off before leaving. It makes a noise to alert you when the pot is ready and when it shuts off later. It also has a function to pause brewing if you pour yourself a cup before it finishes. No mess! I would definitely recommemd this product to anyone and everyone in the market for a programmable coffeemaker.

This is the second coffee maker I have purchased from Cuisinart, same model, the first one lasted either five or six years (I can’t remember exactly) before the heating element burned out. The three reasons I like this coffee maker are that it reminds me when to clean it, has a water filter and I don’t have to use paper filters for the coffee grounds.

This is a great coffeemaker — the only reason I am giving it 4 stars rather than 5 is due to the fact that pouring the water into the reservoir is awkward. It’s unfortunate. If the top of the coffeemaker went back all the way instead of stopping at a 90 degree angle, it would be a breeze to add the water. So to compensate, I have to tilt the entire coffeemaker almost on its side to be able to add all of the water from the coffee pot to the reservoir.

I am disappointed in this coffee maker. When pouring water from the glass carafe into the water reservoir, water remains in the carafe. The lid needs to be removed to empty the remainder of the water into the reservoir. When the carafe is then turned upright, water that has remained in the handle, drips out. Same issue when coffee is brewed–the lid of the carafe needs to be removed to pour out all of the coffee. The one thing I like is that the coffee is very hot which is a big improvement over my previous coffeemaker (not Cuisinart).

Basic coffee maker. Brews an acceptable pot of coffee in a reasonable amount of time. Easy to clean. I use paper cones rather than the included gold mesh filter. Lid should open wider to allow better access to fill with water.

As a new replacement to a very defective predecessor of the same model only two years old, we appreciate this coffee maker when it works. So far so good…but the jury is still out on its longevity.
