Even though this has a stainless steel thermal carafe it also has a heater on the bottom of the coffee maker. So don’t plan on taking it immediately over to your coffee table without a hot plate.

An excellent machine that makes a great pot of coffee.

The coffee maker works great but I am not that happy with the carafe. You need to turn it over completely to empty it and it pours very slowly compared to other carafe’s I’ve used.

Great coffee maker. Fast and makes a great cup of coffee. Love the 12 c sized karafe. Keeps coffee hot for hours!

Love it. Downsides are the carafe doesn’t pour quickly but that’s an acceptable trade off for convenience and keeping coffee warmer longer. Also the cup measurements are only on the right and something to keep in mind if you plan to put this thing next to a wall where the right side would be occluded. But coffee is great! Love the program option. Simple to use. Love that the thing notifies you when it’s time to get cleaned.

My 1st Cuisinart coffeemaker after yrs of Krups but since I have other Cuisinart applicances I like, I went for it. This pot makes very good coffee – I think it’s due to the BOLD button. Cons: 1) The pot needs to be re-designed: you have to hold the pot nearly upside down with one hand to pour. 2) Make sure the filter basket is pushed all the way down or coffee won’t move into the thermos. Bottom line: makes great coffee

I replaced a dying Keurig with this Cuisinart and couldn’t be happier! The bold feature makes the taste perfect after adding milk. The brewing complete chime wakes me up at 6 each morning to a hot cup of happy. The thermal carafe is nice, but I thought it would keep the coffee hotter.

Makes good coffee HOWEVER the cord is too short. I have the coffee maker on my counter in the corner and it doesn’t allow me enough length to pull it out far enough to open the lid to fill the water tank. Need to unplug every time. Not happy about that.

Old coffee maker was 20 years old and really needed to be replaced!

It doesn’t get as hot as the glass carafe model. A little disappointed with coffee temperature since the plate isn’t heated. Wish I would have known this or I would have gone back to the glass carafe style

Nice sleek look brews a delicious cup of coffee. The carafe keeps the coffee hot longer than any other I have owned and I have been using them over 20 years.

The key benefit of this machine is that a thermal carafe means that the brewed coffee is not burned as a result of having to sit on a hot plate for extended periods of time, as with other, cheaper machines. The thermally insulated carafe keeps coffee hot all day, and the machine brews a full carafe in as little as 10 minutes. The timer function and everything else are easy to use and work as they should. The only negative is that the carafe is slightly harder to clean inside than the uninsulated glass variety, but even here the benefits far outweigh the costs.

We bought this model to replace an older and well-used Cuisinart coffee maker. We could not be happier – the coffee is hot, and brews very quickly and quietly! There is an option for a Bold setting, which works very well. The stainless steel carafe keeps the coffee fresh and hot. All in all, another excellent Cuisinart product and a happy customer.

This is a great coffee maker and it looks good too! The thermal pot keeps coffee hot for a long time. The 12 cup capacity is awesome but it does take a bit longer to brew a full pot. This is the best coffee maker I have ever had. I would recommend it.

This is my first carafe style coffee maker. I switched because my 84 year old father keeps breaking the glass pots. I was surprised to find out there is no hot plate although it makes sense since the carafe does keep the coffee hot for a long period of time. Unfortunately if you want to go back to a glass coffee pot, there is no way for it to stay hot in the pot. You would have to buy a new machine or pour it into a carafe. Other than that, the machine works well and I am getting used to not being able to see how much coffee is left in the carafe. My one complaint is that it is almost impossible to get the last cup of coffee out of the carafe without removing the twist on cap. You have to pretty much hold the carafe upside down and then the coffee spills out the sides of the twist cap making a mess. It took a few time for me to realize that when I think the coffee is gone, just twist off the cap to see you have one more cup you can pour out without making a mess.

This would be a 4-5 stars rating but I’m not very pleased with the finished product. There are sharp edges on the handle that dig into the hand as you pour coffee. The coffee maker is fantastic, just not pleased with the finished product.
