I have a twelve cup cuisinart coffeemaker (my second one-they last along time). Cuisinart makes excellent coffeemakers, but as I am alone now I wanted a smaller one-the coffee fantastic, but there are a few things I wish this maker had. A bell that sounds when the coffee is done, and I wish the pot was thermal, I would pay extra for those features other that that I love this little coffeemaker.

This is a good value for a reasonable price. It brews well but delivers and keeps the coffee too hot. There are some ergonomic issues; the on/off switch is situated inconveniently on the side as is the indicator light; the loose carafe top is a clumsy design to position in place; the stainless carafe does not allow a quick read of the amount of coffee in it, requiring the user to remove the annoying lid; and the rim on the carafe prevents pouring out all the coffee and also makes cleaning it difficult.

I selected this coffeemaker based on searches and reviews looking for, specifically, a 4-5 small coffeemaker that used paper filters. The design of this product could use improvement. It is extremely touchy in that the coffee pot and the filter holder have to be exactly in position or you will have coffee and grounds all over the counter, which has happened several times. I still haven’t figured how to exactly make sure things are correctly aligned to avoid these occasional messes.
