I LOVE my Cuisinart Nut & Spice Grinder. What would take me 5-10 minutes on a mortar and pestle, now takes me a minute to mix and grind my spice ingredients. I have only used this for aromatic spices so far. It works very well and allows for various types of grinds – from a coarse to fine grind.I do notice that having ground cumin seeds, clove, and black pepper that the smell of these aromatics lingers. I’m not sure, then, how this will work if I want to grind nuts for cookies. It seems that the scent may linger and has the potential to impact other recipes. I’ll likely stick with my manual nut chopper and use this grinder for spices.

This grinder works great! I put put a whole nutmeg in the grinder and in just s couple of seconds, I had freshly ground nutmeg powder which was much superior to the pre-ground power in the store. Same for a cinnamon stick. Freshly ground tastes much better than cinnamon in a jar and by purchasing whole nuts and seeds, the taste and aroma maintain freshness until you are ready to use them. I highly recommend this grinder.

This device quickly grinds spices like whole cinnamon sticks and entire nutmegs into fine powder. Works great BUT you MUST pass the ground product through a fine sieve when finished, because (no matter how long you grind) there are always some large particles remaining that would be unpleasant to bite down on.
