We use our toaster oven for baking and broiling only. We have a more expensive Breville unit which never has worked effectively. The temperature was never correct and when you switched from bake to broil it would take several minutes for the top heating element to come on if it ever did. Since we had the more expensive Breville unit we did not want to spend a lot for another toaster oven.Nevertheless; we purchased this unit and found out that is is far better than the Breville unit and for a lot less money.Don’t waste your money on the Breville toaster oven, it looks nice but is not even close to this one as far as effectiveness.

Looked like a quality oven but my main reason for returning it before even using it was that the writing for the control knobs was so small it was near impossible to read without putting on glasses and even then all of the different setting readings were still difficult to read.

The toaster oven it self is very good the big problem is and remain : the baking tray is probably the worst on the market and cuisinart is not doing nothing to correct the problem despite consumers complains, so the next time I will pick another product

I have not had it that long; however, I am impressed thus far. I cannot believe how fast that the toaster feature works. It’s quick as a hiccup! I love the fact that you just slide out the crumb catcher tray, clean it off and you are back in business. Everything is easy to understand and it has a great number of features that I look for to using. It is very attractive and it matches perfectly with my Cuisinart coffee maker. Don’t like the tray with the wider lip. It gets caught when trying to remove the tray. I prefer the tray with the narrower lip that was on the older model cuisinart toaster oven broiler. If not for that, I would have given the unit 5 stars.

We were looking for a replacement toaster oven that was not wider than our old one, but not smaller either. This Cuisinart model TOB-40N was just right: slightly larger in width and height, but best of all, a couple of inches deeper. This meant it would fit in the space we needed to put it, but still give us more room inside. You can bake a pie in a 9-inch pan.The instruction guide and recipe booklet tells you what you need to know, but be sure to read it carefully. The knobs control different functions and settings. Don’t try to keep the power cord wrapped around the storage cleats in the back–the cord needs to be at least an inch away from the oven or it will be damaged by the heat. And always unplug it when not in use or you’ll be using electricity.The recipes are a good starting place, but the directions are vague about the position in which to put the rack and/or baking pan. Also, sometimes the directions say “rack” when it seems like it should be “pan.” In a few cases the level at which you should put the rack or pan is not specified. So, be flexible and plan on some trial-and-error. We’ve had this about a month, and it does everything we have needed to do. We’re happy.
