Using the recommended 1/2C pour it will still ooze out the side. There doesn’t seem to be any way to prevent this – this model doesn’t have a mechanism to move batter to empty spaces. So you either leak out or have tiny waffles. My old iron was sauté shaped so I still got round ones but plenty of room for the batter to run to so no leaks. The top and bottom also don’t seem to line up – there is a slight shift to the right. It doesn’t seem intentional but it doesn’t seem to impact the shape of the waffles. Otherwise, this is a quick and easy way to get classic waffles. The basic recipe included in the booklet tastes great, but doesn’t crisp up if you like that. I have no clue how anyone can make a waffle look like the one in their photo using this iron.

Basically a good item, but the selection control is very, very loose and when I contacted customer service was told that was normal. It almost feels like it will fall off. Even on high, the waffle needs more time to be a golden brown and at all crispy, otherwise it’s quite doughy.

The top lid has a wiggle to it and so does the temperature setting.This does not effect the quality of the waffle. If your looking for a tight fit this will bother you. Other than that the waffle maker works great.

LOVE IT. Cooks quickly, light-weight, easy to store – takes up little space, cord stores compactly. After receiving one for our cabin, I liked it so much that I gave away our home (working) waffle maker to get this one. Funny thing- when I got the 2nd waffle maker, I more carefully read the instructions and discovered the clever way to store the cord. It wraps around the outside and the prongs of the plug fit into 2 slots. This keeps the cord in place, and locks the waffle maker closed.
