   I decided to buy this from Home Depot because it was much, much less than what the online water filter company wanted for their o-ring. I did a lot of online searching and found that this HD-950 o-ring is commonly sold by several companies at retail and online and that it would work on my Big Blue 10 inch filter housing from Pentek. It seemed a little big and did not fit as snug as my old o-ring that came with the filter new and it had been taken off and put back on many times as I have changed filters. I was a bit disappointed but after working with it a while I made it work. I was afraid when I turned the water back on that water would come spraying out but it did not. I have checked several times since and I do not see any leaks so I guess it worked but I do not feel confident about it. I cannot recommend the product for that reason. I will probably order the more expensive one from the water filter company next time but if it is also a little big, then I will come back to this one. We will see in about a year since I ordered 4 of these.

   Fits but since Oring is doubled over in package, it does not lie flat in grove. My plumber recomended spraying the grove first with WD-40 Silicone Spray. Laying you full O-ring on a flat surface several days before using might help flaten the O-ring.

   If it’s the O-ring I have used in the past it works I have not tried the new oh ring out I will do that in the next couple of weeks when opening the water filter I hope that it is the correct size.
