The BRG1000AVRLCD Intelligent LCD Series Uninterruptible Power Supply from CyberPower comes equipped with a capacity of 1000VA/600W that delivers power for up to ten electronic devices. This power supply features Automatic Voltage Regulation boost/buck technology, which provides consistent and clean AC power to all your connected equipment such as PCs, monitors, cable DSL/modems, VoIP routers, home theater devices, and more. Furthermore, it has composite integrated circuitry for lighting protection and EMI/RFI filters. The Intelligent LCD UPS provides an integrated panel for displaying real-time UPS vitals. The panel also allows you to change the settings for sensitivity, illumination, and audible alarms.
This mini-tower power supply offers ten outlets that are capable of absorbing up to 1,080 Joules for keeping your devices safe against surges and spikes. To keep your devices powered during blackouts, brownouts, and sags, five of the outlets deliver power via a 12V lead acid sealed battery. In addition to the outlets, two 2.1A / 5 VDC USB type A ports are integrated into the front of the power supply for charging devices such as tablets, smart phones, MP3 players, and cameras. Other connections offered are serial, USB type B, RJ-11, and coax ports.
This power supply is Energy Star qualified with GreenPower UPS Bypass circuitry for reducing energy consumption and heat buildup to help save energy costs. Included with the power supply is the PowerPanel Personal edition UPS management software for Windows systems. This software requires minimal system resources and monitors the status of the UPS to ensure it is working properly. When a power outage does occur, this software automatically saves open files and powers down the system into hibernation mode. When your PC is running in hibernation mode, the power supply will offer a longer runtime.

I bought this unit to replace a Belkin unit I sold to a customer. The Belkin unit even though it was new, was defective right out of the box and Belkin did nothing to replace it. I had this shipped to my customer and he was extremely happy with it and was better than he expected. It came with the bonus surge protector which made it an even better deal. B&H shipped right away and my customer had it within 2 days. Amazing. Thank you.

The descriptions provided for these power supplies don’t properly alert the average consumer to the importance of knowing exactly what your specific PC requires in a UPS. I bought this BRG1000AVRLCD for my Dell desktop PC believing I was choosing a high end unit that exceeded my needs, but when the power went out, it did not maintain power to my PC. The documentation that comes with the unit, is not geared toward nontechnical users and after many emails with CyberPower tech support, the only conclusion was my Dell PC required a sinewave model. Unless you’re an electronics expert, I recommend that you speak with a qualified technician and provide them with all the specs of your PC prior to purchasing or you may have nothing more than a very expensive surge protector, that won’t keep your PC running if the power goes out. CyberPower made no attempt to offer any compensation for their lack of proper buyer information for their product, so I ended up with a $155.00 paperweight.

I’m using this to power a NAS with 5 x 2TB drives, a Mac Mini with an external FW drive and external 2.5 HDD as well as a 5 port switch, 2 per external HDDs and 2 Dell LCD monitors (21 and 19). It reports about 19 min of runtime, which is good enough for a clean shutdown if power doesn’t come back on quickly. If I really need extra runtime, I’ll shut the Mac and monitors down and should get some extra time for the NAS. I replaced a 5 year old APC Back-UPS XS 1300 that went south (new batteries didn’t help, I tried 2 sets including OEM ones from APC and 3rd party). The unit is much more compact than the APC, which is nice. And the NAS (QNAP) recognized it right away.
